@HiDevin I agree, you can earn more on Moon with the bonuses! I use Privacy Badger on Bitfun and it seems to work okay.

@zyzzyva Thank you for reply.
So that means I do not need to optimize because I am using XPlotter?Yes, that's correct.

@Hajime Direct mode is only for the GPU plotter. XPlotter always creates optimized plots.

RE: Moon Bitcoin highest paying faucet?posted in Off Topic
This new faucet seems to be comparable to Moon Bitcoin, maybe just a little bit higher paying. It works on a similar model (claim when you want, but it slows down over time). I've seen it pay 30-40 sats in 5 minutes.

RE: First Annual Node Driveposted in General Discussion
I've been running the local wallet 24/7 on one of my servers for about a month now. That way my password never leaves my LAN! :) Setting up an extra node on an RPi sounds fun, and I have a few sitting around. I'm putting it on my to-do list.

@Blago said in XPlotter for optimized plots (CPU):
When you plotting by wplotgenerator or GPU-plotter - don't unplug your drives after plotting - OS need some time (1-15 mins) for flush cache to drive
Doesn't "Safely Remove Hardware" flush the cache before it tells you that you can remove the USB device? I wouldn't just unplug a drive without doing that under any circumstances.

RE: Regarding the recent theft of Burst accountsposted in General Discussion
@theoneandonely It's not possible to change your passphrase, because your address is generated from your passphrase. You'd need to create a new account and transfer your Burst and assets to it.

@Focus Nice, thanks. I'm gonna give one a try for my next set of disks.

@DougLife I use these all the time and are solid. I have added 4 to 5 of these on a hub on one USB port without problems.
Thanks for the recommendation. I've been thinking about using these, since they're half the price of the MediaSonic ProBoxes I've been using. How's the noise level? Do you need to cool the drives with an external fan?

I think @Focus is right about the PSU, but for what it's worth, cables are not always compatible between different PSUs, even if they have the same connectors. Be careful, don't fry your motherboard or components!

RE: Solo Mining on multiple PCs, one walletposted in Help & Support
Thanks @haitch, that's what I was wondering. I already have a local wallet set up on a small Linux server, with nxt.properties set up so I can connect from anywhere on my LAN. I was hoping I could solo mine against it and only have to worry about keeping one wallet in sync.

RE: Solo Mining on multiple PCs, one walletposted in Help & Support
Thanks, @daWallet. Is the issue something with the possibility of submitting a nonce with a lower deadline, followed by a nonce with a higher deadline? I know Blago's proxy keeps track of that.

@iKnow0 Thanks! Do you (or anyone) know the technical reason for that? I'm curious, it seems in theory like you shouldn't need separate wallets.

Solo Mining on multiple PCs, one walletposted in Help & Support
If I have miners running on two machines on my LAN (let's call them machines A and B), and the BURST wallet running on a third, non-mining machine on my LAN (let's call it C), can I solo mine on the same account ID from both miners to the wallet? In other words, can miners A and B submit nonces for the same account ID to wallet C? I'm unclear on this, it seems like it should work, but I seem to remember reading that it won't.
I know I need to have time in sync on A, B, and C, and that A and B will be sending my passphrase to C in plain text. I've got all that taken care of.
Thanks!

RE: Xplotter questions and observationsposted in Mining & Plotting
@rds PlotsChecker only looks at the filename and the length of the file, as far as I know. It doesn't actually look at the nonces themselves. Since XPlotter 1.0 creates a sparse file with the correct length before it starts writing nonces, I don't think PlotsChecker can tell whether all nonces have been written correctly.

RE: creepMiner - C++ Burst Miner (based on Uray's Miner)posted in Miner
Hey @Creepsky, this looks great! I have a couple of questions if you don't mind...
- Will creepMiner forward nonces for other miners like jminer or Blago's miner? Or will it only forward nonces for other creepMiners?
- Can creepMiner forward without mining?
- Can creepMiner forward multiple miners to a local wallet for solo mining?
Thanks!

RE: Solo mining local standalone walletposted in Mining & Plotting
I can tell you from experience that the wallet doesn't output anything when you hit a block at its default log settings. I haven't played with the config file much, but it's worth looking to see if there's a setting to get more verbose output.

RE: chunkPartNonces Jminerposted in Mining & Plotting
@SmartonoseN Right now I'm running jminer on two machines, one with 16GB system RAM and one with 8GB. Oddly enough, I found that the "sweet spot" for chunkPartNonces seemed to be around 960000 on both machines. Beyond that, I didn't get much improvement, and trying much higher values like 1920000 actually got me slightly slower read speeds.
Obviously this is a pretty unscientific test. I'd love to hear other people's results.

RE: Shapeshift.ioposted in General Discussion
Done! I pointed out that there are lots of incentives for people to convert other cryptos to BURST, not just to sell their mined BURST for BTC. I hope they listen!
