Same Disks, same settings but Hdd writing scoops way slower on one machine.posted in Help & Support
I jus picked up a bunch of 3tb WD red HDDs. I want to plot them on two different machines using xplotter.
Machine 1: Laptop with i7-4700mq, I am using 4 cores and 2gb ram. Hdd is connected via orico usb 3.0 dock.
Plotting speed is around 4900 nonces/min. Hdd writing scoops is reaching 100% and stays at 100 untill batch is finished.
Machine 2: Desktop with AMD 8350, also 4 cores 2gb of ram. HDD directly connected to sata port.
Plotting speed is around 4400 nonces/min. But on this machine HDD writing scoops increases very slow. At around 30% or so it is getting gray and the CPU has to wait untill all scoops are written.
Both HDDs are formated to NTFS/4096bytes
What is going on, why is one machine slower on writing scoops than the other? I tried all 8 HDDs that I have. All of them are way slower on the desktop machine when writing scoops.
Is there a way to optimize this?

R9 270 only 3000 nonces/min on windows 10posted in Mining & Plotting
Hello everyone.
I am plotting on my old R9 270 GPU. My first 20tb I plottet on windows 7. Using the exact same GPU.
On windows 7 I was able to plot with ~15k nonces/min.
Now I have upgraded to win 10 and my plotting speed is only 3k nonces/min.
My devices config loogs like this: 1 0 1024 128 8192
And this is what list all devices says:
[0] Intel(R) OpenCL (OpenCL 1.2 )
[0] Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400 (OpenCL 1.2 )
[1] Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40GHz (OpenCL 1.2 (Build 10094))
[1] AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing (OpenCL 2.0 AMD-APP (2348.3))
[0] Pitcairn (OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (2348.3))
[1] Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40GHz (OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (2348.3))The HDD is a USB 3-0 external with 4tb. Coyping already plottet files to that HDD is running at around 140 MB/s. So connection can not be the bottleneck.
Do you have anny sugestions what might be the problem?
Thanks!
