I'm getting tired of the foul language members are using against other members. I'd like it to stop, but if it doesn't then I'm going to start throwing out temporary bans until it does. If you can't make your point politely, then don't post.

The online wallets.posted in General Discussion
The online wallets have all been replaced. Originally the online wallets were four instance of the wallet, two each on two Windows VMs. They are now each on an individual Linux box. One wallet per VM, one VM per physical host.
Hopefully this will make the online wallets more stable. Additionally the wallet used to create the downloadable DB is no longer also servicing requests. This will prevent the outages that could potentially occur when the zip was being created, and avoid the load/corruption potential on that wallet.
Also, the new online wallets include the Recent Asset Transactions add on to show your activity on the AE.

My day is getting better....posted in Off Topic
I started this day feeling pretty down due to all the crap over the last few days, then it started getting better.
First I learned that one of the other forums mods had been banned from Wikipedia for vandalizing the Burstcoin article, then it got even better when reading about it, the Wikipedia Editors say that those forums obviously aren't the official forums .... WE ARE
Then it got even better when I noticed that my Avast plugin was no longer rating this site as Unknown - No Rating, to:
Thanks to all that that told them this was a safe place to be!
So now I'm feeling much better than I was this morning, and am now taking my wife out to lunch, so will be feeling much better when I get back.
While I'm out please play nice and keep on Bursting!

Site problems.posted in Announcements
@all - something went very wrong with my colo site last night. I'm still not sure what exactly happened, but I do know everything went down hard - this is not supposed to happen, the colo is also a Charter Networks 911 center, so supposedly rock solid connectivity and power. I think everything is backup now, but I had to jump through a few hoops to get reconnected and might have messed something up in the process. If anything seems to be down or not working properly, let me know here and I'll take care of it.
My apologies for the disruption of service, but this one was completely out of my control.

Mining Errors:posted in FAQ
As requested, a list of the most common errors and their causes, these are the ones I can think of. If I've missed any please PM me and I'll update the list.
Wallet Errors:
-
"Error 5": This is one of the most common errors we see. Error 5 is caused by using the wrong passphrase, and almost nothing else. Please don't say you're sure it's the correct passphrase - Error 5 means there is no such account, the passphrase you're using for this action has never been used to create an account - therefore it's not the correct passphrase for your account. There could be an extra space at the beginning or end, if you're copying the passphrase from notepad you can get a newline in the middle if the passphrase is line-wrapped, or a newline at the end if your highlight goes onto the next line. There is only one other cause, but an Error 5 is 99.9% of the time "Wrong Passphrase".
The only other possible cause is you're using a wallet that is broken, and does not know about your account.
-
"Cannot reassign reward recipient before previous goes into effect": You've done a Reward Assignment, then tried to do another one. The first one takes 4 Blocks before it becomes effective. Be patient and wait for the first one to complete.
-
"You may be on a fork, you have mined the last X blocks": This is normally a false warning and can be ignored. Cause not yet determined.
The All In One Windows Client.
- "Script Error": Your version of Internet Explorer is out of date, or you're using a version of Windows the AIO won't run on. Install all available Windows Updates to get your OS up-to-date.
Xplotter Errors:
- "error creating stream for file e:\burst\plots...": Your drive is formatted as Fat32 or exFAT - Xplotter REQUIRES the drive to be formatted as NTFS - reformat the drive as NTFS, and it's preferred to change BlockSize to 64K when formatting.
Mining Errors:
-
"DL Not Confirmed": The miner sent a deadline to the pool, but did not receive a confirmation. Normally this is a pool load issue, priority is given to processing submitted nonces, causing the confirmation to be delayed. Check the pool and see if the DL is listed. Less common, but can also be caused by the confirmation just getting lost. Work is being done on the miners to re-submit nonces that don't get confirmed.
-
"Your deadline is good... for the previous block!": The pool received a nonce from you for the previous round, your miner hasn't seen that there is a new block, or the pool has moved onto a new block and your nonce was in the queue and hadn't been processed.
-
"The deadline for your nonce is REALLY BAD": This normally indicates a corrupt plot file. Check the log to determine what the nonce was and which plot file it came from - delete and recreate.
-
"Your Burst account's reward recipient (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX) does not match pool's account (YYYY-YYYY-YYYY-YYYYY)": As it says, your reward recipient doesn't match the pool. This is either because a) You've done a Reward Assignment but 4 blocks haven't passed yet or b) you're mining on the wrong pool.
-
"Your Burst account's reward recipient () does not match pool's account (YYYY-YYYY-YYYY-YYYYY)" : Note the blank reward assignment - this indicates a problem with the pool wallet - please inform the pool owner.
-
"Woah there! At least give me a couple of seconds to service other miners!": There's a problem with the pool server clock, please notify the pool owner.
-
"json format error": There's a problem with your miner.conf file. Double check the syntax, or use JSON Checker
-
"Warning <file1> and <file2> are overlapped": Your nonce calculations are wrong and you've ended up with the same nonces in two different files, wasting space, or, using the AIO you've moved files around or changed drive letters. In either case delete one of the files and replot correctly.
-
"File <filename> name/size mismatch": Your plot file actual size does not match the description of the file in it's name. Use the Plotschecker tool in the "Burst Software" section to fix it.
-
"File <file name> Error opening": The plot file can't be opened - normally means you're still plotting the file.
-
"stagger (XXX) must be a multiple of 8": One of your plot files is bad - delete and replot.

Critiquing Assetsposted in General Discussion
If you have a concern about an asset, talk to the asset issuer; if not satisfied talk to me - and I'll talk to them; if still not satisfied, then post publicly - but do at a time zone appropriate time. The talks about BTCDragon started at around 2am his time. If he happened to be up, great - but if you post something negative about one of my assets 4-8 hours before I can reasonably be expected to address concerns, I'd be really, really, pissed. Express concerns at a time they can be addressed, not at a time where hysterical panic can occur.

Haitchs Assets Asset ....posted in Asset Exchange
As some of you may have noticed, a) I'm around here a lot, b) I'm more ID Verified than any other member here, c) I'm a big fan of assets. And d) you guys seem to love assets that are paying out the income of other assets.
Therefore, I'm pre-announcing a new asset, based on my portfolio of assets.
I'm moving my assets over to a separate account so I can accurately determine my asset income, to give you real numbers. So the asset will not be released for a month, but I wanted to give you all a heads up.
Asset structure is this:
I currently hold asset shares that at current Asset Exchange prices are valued at 41 Million Burst. They all will move to the asset.
The asset will release 2 Million shares @ 90 Burst each.
90% of those 2 Million will be released, the other 10% will be retained by me, and will represent all the fees of the asset.
80% of the revenue from the asset sales will be reinvested in assets. That's 128 Million burst, making the asset backed from day one with 140 Million Burst worth of assets. In the process driving up the price of all the assets I invest in.
80% of the revenue from the held assets will be distributed to asset holders, the other 20% will be used to buy more assets to exponentially grow the asset.
Apologies to Nameless, but I intend to make this the most massive asset on the Exchange.
I'm ID Verified by myself ....
But if anyone interested in investing emails me at haitch@burst-team.us requesting additional info and I'll send you verifiable docs.
Feedback welcome.

RE: Haitch's Assets Assetposted in Asset Exchange
PennyWise now at 69,847GB mining, with another 32TB plotting now ....... and another 19TB waiting to be installed, and another 18TB on order shortly. That give a total of around 135TB, and I'm just getting started ........
Two of the drive being plotted are SMR drives, so spend much more time writing to the drive than actually plotting, the other one is a 16TB RAID-0 2 PMR Drive array. Because the SMR's spend so much time in writing, I seriously over subscribed the CPU cores - each of the SMR's is assigned 38 Threads, the Array gets 32 Threads. Most of the time there's only one plotter actively plotting, but occasionally there will be 2 - that really kills mining times

Change to the requirement to post new threads in the Asset Exchange Category.posted in Announcements
The Burst Asset Exchange (AE) is, like Burst itself, totally decentralized - anyone can create any asset.
These forums however are not decentralized, the equipment they run on is owned by me, the monthly hosting fees are paid by me, and what happens here reflects back on me and my reputation.
Therefore, I'm introducing a change for those wishing to advertise their assets here. The community has been scammed a number of times by people who created "assets", collected the Burst, then disappeared with the Burst, with no recourse for their "investors". That stops now. All asset owners that wish to promote their assets here will be REQUIRED to ID Verified.
I'll grandfather in those assets created prior to 1/1/2017, but would strongly encourage those asset owners who aren't verified to get verified. More and more people are refusing to purchase assets from non-verified owners. If you want to increase the trust in your asset, get verified.
For assets that started being promoted here after 1/1/2017, you have a week to start the verification process, or I'll take down your thread.
Additionally, I'm going to recommend that asset owners join the escrow program, and put a percentage of their asset sales into escrow to protect their investors. I'm not going to require escrow, just recommend it for now. Assets that have both ID Verification and Escrow will have the highest level of trust in the community.

.EU and .BIZ Bonus payments.posted in Announcements
@all, after the issues with the pools forking last week, everyone should have received about what they were due. However to make sure no-one has less Burst than they deserved, I'm dropping a 20,000 Burst bonus payment onto each pools. The bonus will payout based on your current historical share.
The .BIZ bonus is paying out now, the .EU one will start shortly.

RE: THE ANN - 402 and Iposted in Asset Exchange
@Snoops As I posted in another thread, I believe we're back on the right course, stronger and more focused than ever, that here will keep getting better, and we're going to have some exciting days ahead. Losing the 402 asset is a blow, but if Burst can evolve into it's potential, there's no reason Nameless might not move it back to Burst in the future. For now, we need to support the community, support the developers, spread the word about Burst, and make this coin everything it's capable of being.

RE: Burst4All concernsposted in General Discussion
@Propagandalf I expected to come home to everything being quiet here, and there, and just being able to get on with doing what we can for Burst here today.
Instead I had a curious message to cheer up.
Then started the upgrade to the GitLab site, where the Burst Wallet is maintained.
Then found this thread ..... good day turned crappy, cheer up message now understood.
Message deleted and personal privacy complaint with YouTube lodged.
Had an intriguing message about my assets.
Completed the GitLab upgrade.
Said Fuck It, cancelled the rest of my ambition for the day, and sat down with a cold beer. Which is where I'm now. I don't want a war with the Nation. I've disputed publicly/privately with those members, and as a result been banned from their forums, been banned from Crows conversation site - and been very inaccurately attacked here.
And yet despite all this crap dumped on me, I still decide to keep funding my servers and making Burst better.
I'm not attacking those individuals - just raising concerns that I see, which is what I would do whether they used to be part of my team or not. They retaliate with very personal attacks on me - I have not lowered myself to that level. Yes I have lashed out inappropriately (as in banning Crow / Focus ) out of anger, but those mistakes were reversed. What they do is not a mistake - it's personal attacks to break down this community. As Adam himself said "Bud, lemme make it real simple for you to grasp. I will wreck anyone who shows disrespect to me" - I won't kow tow to Adam, ergo I need to be destroyed. Adam will not destroy me.
That's not going to happen. These forums will remain here for the Burst Community, as an alternative to the Adam Cult of Personality. I miss the former trusted members here that have gone to the dark side - their cookies can't be THAT good !

Mobile Pool (m.burst4all.com) Bonus.posted in Pool Announcements
To encourage people to get their phones and small system plotting and mining, I've put up a 250,000 Burst Bonus for the m.burst4all.com pool.
This bonus is currently being paid out at the rate of 1,000 Burst/Day. So even if the pool doesn't find a block each day, miners are still getting paid every day.
So get your phones, tablets, TV's and small systems up plotting and mining at m.burst4all.com. Remember, no plots over 1TB - anyone abusing the system will get IP banned.
And for anyone wishing to match (completely or partially) my donation, to increase the daily bonus, donations can be sent to: BURST-XR7S-HYF3-RMU7-ADUFK
As an additional bonus, for anyone that wants to get ID verified, donate 50K or more and I'll waive/refund the ID Verification fee.
Lets get Mobile Mining Moving!
