Yep.. Unoptimized plots are VERY slow. Might also be that your discs are reading at the same time then you finish reading all discs but one. And on that disc the max read speed is 130

It improves read times alot. Does nothing to deadlines.
Its in your best interest to have good read times. -

They are okay as far as nonces go. But you should optimize them. Use the Optimizer tool found in the software section of the forum.

RE: How much space do you leave on your harddrives?posted in Mining & Plotting
Dang thanks guys. I really thought that would be an issue. I guess i got a few extra hundred GB to plot then.

How much space do you leave on your harddrives?posted in Mining & Plotting
You should leave some space on the harddrive right or it will cause issues? I´ve heard it shortens the HDDs lifespan and that it slows down the writing/reading speeds and sh*t like that. Personally ive plotted every drive so theres a 100gb un-used space, should i lower that?
How much space do you guys leave?

Post pictures of your nonces. Size should be the same if its the same amount of nonces.

RE: Will either of these work for mining eth or other cryptos decently?posted in Other AltCoins
There are calculators to crosscheck electricity consumption towards hashing rate. As for Burstcoin they deliver around 20k nonces per minute if im not misremembering, someone who owns the card can confirm.

Anything. Over the long run it will even out. Expect what the calculator say +- a few hundred daily

RE: Best way to set up a 1 PB Farm?posted in General Discussion
The best way to set it up and do it all within a reasonable timeframe:
1: Buy 5 computers with Rayzen CPUs and 580RX GPUs
2: Connect 24x8tb external drives to each computer. With the hardware you can plot a dozen TBs of optimized plots per day
3: When plotting is done sell of CPUs and put weaker ones in your Burst miners. Put GPUs in mining rigs for other coins.
You bottle neck will be the plotting. You have to have several really good computers to plot that much within a reasonable timeframe. The whole project will occupy ALOT of real life space, expect a whole room. Produce alot of heat and noise.
As for ROI its pretty hard to speculate.

Just like Nisc3d said. The calculator is the AVERAGE you should be getting. It will even out over a long enough time span. The same as if you were mining solo you´d on average hit a block every ~40th day meaning you´d get.. you guessed it, 57 a day if you divided the days with the burst you got.

RE: good graphics card just for mining?not the best but a good one?posted in Help & Support
For 4 TB per month you dont need anything special. Im running a RX460 which gives me 12000 nonces per minute. Meanwhile i run a i5 4600k processor giving me 8000 nonces/m on top of that.
As for ram. Ram is used alot in both the plotting and optimization process. Ive found that setting more ram doesnt neccessarly up the speed. In some cases putting it to 512mb have been faster than 1024. The issue is with many processes running you can run out of ram which will freeze your comp. Id suggest at least 16gb. Preferably 32 and you wont have to worry.

RE: Burst dropping and killing my Portfolioposted in Price & Trading Discussion
What im saying is the coin could be applied in an endless amounts of way in real life. That it cant be taken over by big commercial mining like bitcoin has. That it doesnt pollute the earth in an unsustainable way like asci and gpu mined coins.
The value is in its ENDLESS potential.Every company would have an asset to invest in. People could use smart contracts to handle trades between each other. Banks, mortages, the stock market, all a thing of the past.

RE: Burst dropping and killing my Portfolioposted in Price & Trading Discussion
Truth is Burst is undervalued. Its one of the coins with most functions, smart contracts, assets e.x. Its mining is very hard to globalize therefore theres interest for the individual to go with Burst rather than a big coin only profitable for big investors and big companies. Its listed on several very big markets. My prediction is Bursts price will be on par with bitcoins very soon.
Furthermore the mining process doesn't waste electricity like crazy. Being environmentally friendly and not requiring monster fuses and fans to mine pocket change amounts like eth or bitcoin.

RE: Miner not detecting new plots (Solved)posted in Help & Support
Hey thanks for the warning.
Im running a GPUplotter and xPlotter parallely. Do these programs experience the same issue? -
RE: Miner not detecting new plots (Solved)posted in Help & Support
IT WORKS! Thanks for the help!
I plot my files to a fast C drive then transfer them to slower external drives.

BTW i have saved and quit the file, restarted the miner. Just to clearify
