Newbie at Burst, having problems with write plot. [32 Bit]
-
@wooliesurf the client is the wallet program...
when you have a zip file that file is compressed and you need to extract it in order to use that files...
and then when i say to replace the exiting files in that folder i mean you to delete those files and copy the ones you have extracted from the zip folder to the folder
%appdata%\Roaming\BurstWallet\burst_db
i don't know to simplify... i think that you are being issues with the English if that is the case if you are Portuguese i can help you (just begin a chat with me) or you can use the multi languages sub forums to someone help on your language or you can use the google translator...
-
@gpedro I appreciate your wanting to help...but I know nothing about computers/zip files/exisitng files/extracting files/folders.... you might aswell be just typing blah blah blah blah. I have no computer skills if i did i wouldnt ask for help. I speak english all my life. Because you have done this numerous times its easy for you.
-
@wooliesurf no but giving up isn't the answer...
just take a look at youtube when you don't know how to do something that you think or other people say its pretty easy...
Here's a video of how to zip and unzip a file... take a look:

I hope I've fixed the bug you are having. Please download the latest version, install it again and try to plot:
-
@daWallet Thankyou so much. I will get to setting up.
-
@daWallet does this mean its plotting:-

-
@wooliesurf The first bug you had is fixed. :)
No you are not plotting, you don't have enough free RAM available to start the plotting process...
Maybe it helps to close some programs that are running. Or better: Restart your machine and then close all programs you don't need ...
then try to plot again.
-
@daWallet what if i got a 1TB external hard drive would that be better.
-
@daWallet only reason i ask is that my laptop runs on that windows 10 and theres programs running that i have tried to turn off. So im just wondering if i got one of those 1TB USB3 Portable Hard Drive if that would help.
-
@daWallet If i got a 1TB USB3 Portable Hard Drive then repeated the process with that drive would it then be able to start mining? Just wanting to clarify.
-
This problem is not about your hard drive, it's because your "memory" on your pc is full, so the best you can do is try to close some programs, or even better restart your computer and start the plotting before anything else.
So to answer your question @wooliesurf , the problem can still occur if you use it with an external hard drive.
Hope it helps :)
-
@Zeus cheers for the reply. I tried restart and plotting with no other programs running and same thing happened. Will get my memory sorted both on the pc and between me ears. Awesome support here, much appreciated @daWallet ,@Zeus ,@gpedro .Thanks for your advice and help. ova

@wooliesurf
I've changed some parameters in the software.
Can you Download, install and test it again?I don't have a 32 Bit system here and it is difficult to test it fully myself.
Hope it works now.
-
I have the same exact problem.I also have a 32 bit system, and a external 1TB drive I'm trying to plot.My CPU is running at 99% al night now after 11 hours.Wallet is open.Should I cancel the plotting,or should I still wait?Help please...In my black screen it just says d:\Burst>_
-
@jcstander Your CPU is running because the wallet is downloading the blockchain in the background. This won't last forever... maybe 2 days maximum. You can close the client during plotting - but not the plotting window.
Which version of the Client do you use?
d:\Burst> means you are not plotting. There was a small bug in the code I fixed in the newest version.
-
Testing it out on 32 bit, first got the message, "32 bit, will be slower. Nevermind. " and then the following:
-
Seems like I'm plotting, quick question: Why is it plotting 500000000 and beyond and how do I know when it is finished? (plotsize/256kb)?
-
@BurgerBaron Thanks for the Screenshot. I will fix that problem soonish.
-
@daWallet Thanks! In the last screenshot it is all ok right?
-
@BurgerBaron Yes, what happend? Why does it work now?
