Earnings are from A-ads, Mellowads and individual contracts between users and us.

    Here some stats from campaigns:
https://a-ads.com/ad_units/466915/stats (In the week without earnings we had direct advertisements from users of this forum. )
    https://goo.gl/#analytics/goo.gl/ozMtsk/all_time
    https://goo.gl/#analytics/goo.gl/LRd3d1/all_time

We have a huge influx of new users and visitors since we've reached new all time highs in price and volume.

I heard the Burst Lottery with Automated Transactions is looking for some ad space ( @Lexicon) as new and old Asset Issuers are welcome to contact us. We always prefer to advertise Burst-related services over generic ad networks. This circulates and generates value in the Burst economy directly.

If the demand is high enough someday we will open the auction again.

Also I wanted to ask investors / holders if a monthly or a bi-weekly payout is preferred.

  • @daWallet Just ran across your update, don't know why I missed it.

Monthly or bi-weekly? Can you even do bi-weekly? Monthly is just fine for me.

What is in the works for new advertising revenue?

I also believe I need to publicly speak up about the ads that show on the bottom of the forum pages for mellow ads. A huge portion of the ads shown are for ponzi schemes. I don't believe this sort of thing should be promoted on this site. The most vulnerable are new users to cryptocurrency. They are supposed to be coming here to learn, and join the community; not scammed out of their money.

  • @daWallet @haitch No response to my post?

@ryanw We will soon replace mellowads with something of better quality and revenue. A new exchange approached us with their interest to advertise here.

I'm afk and out of town but haitch can disable the banner at the bottom. Soon we will negotiate the terms with the interested coin exchange.

  • Thank you for the update, much appreciated.

  • @daWallet
    Monthly.

@ryanw Footer ads have been disabled.

    Update:

The last 12 days we got three pay outs from A-Ads and one final pay out from MellowAds.

A-Ads is performing every week better and the payouts threshold of 0.01 BTC is reached in shorter timeframes than expected.
    https://a-ads.com/ad_units/466915/stats Mainly of burstcoin.biz

MellowAds performed in comparison poorly on the footer of this forum and had the worse ads - That's why we replaced it temporarily with A-Ads on the bottom of this forum.

Contact me if you want to Advertise your service here:

Also the forum statistics for May:

We will schedule the payout once month again (at the end of a month) to underline the long term strategy of this Asset. BTC gains are instantly converted into Burst based on the timestamp and market value of Burst - no matter the price, as I am not going to speculate and take unnecessary risks. That would be highly unprofessional.

Payout of the last 12 Days. Next payout: End of June '17

  • @dawallet @haitch I am wondering...does a-ads serve better paying ads and payout more according to your performace (higher CTR, conversions, etc)? If so, putting them at the bottom of the pages would not be good. This will really decrease the performance of your properties in their network. If not, what is the result of dramatically decreased performance for a-ads?

These ad spots at the bottom would be better served with either direct sales, or CPA ads. CPC and CPM ads shouldn't be placed their unless it has no affect on your standing with the ad network, or are specifically tailored for footer ad spaces.

Generally, the better overall performance of an ad for an advertiser, the better your returns. Renewing higher paying campaigns, adding better campaigns to your rotation, site-specific creatives and campaigns, etc. all go hand in hand with excellent performance with good ad networks/brokers. If you swamp campaigns with a bunch of impressions with barely visible ads, it makes your properties less desirable to advertise on.

I don't have any experience with a-ads, however. It could be that they are a network that just want to pump impressions and get quick cash...if that's the case, then everything I said does not apply.

  • On top of wanting my previous post addressed, I have a couple requests to consider.

I believe shareholders should have access to up-to-date google analytics reports for all the properties. If you don't have analytics effectively installed, it's an important thing to do. Analytics is the main reporting system relied on for valuating properties and ad space.

Secondly, I suggest implementing an ad serving solution for all of the creative spaces. This not only brings all of the ad serving under one roof, but it also makes implementing new campaigns much easier. Potential advertisers would be able to manage their campaigns as well. I believe this is very important for the asset's properties as they keep growing. Installing management software now will save headaches and time. in the future.

My suggestion is using https://www.revive-adserver.com/ . It's the newest iteration of phpadsnew, which I used to manage my ads years ago.

@ryanw Thank you for your input. We had piwik running some time but then all hell broke loose with the ddos attacks and the downtime. It got buried somewhere under redirects and proxies. Since some time I am nagging @haitch about it. :D It will be up for sure very soon again.

A-Ads on both websites is only a temporary thing and not as effective of course, as global impressions count and get rewarded. We are in negotiations and always open for new publishers. MellowAds has been just paying pennies...

The global backend like revive-adserver will come for sure with our growth rates. It's the way to go and I'm very optimistic about this asset long term as it is finally scaling as I am expecting. One or two months ago there was just not enough demand to have such a sophisticated back-end for the handful of possible publishers.

I know I haven't answered all your questions but haitch is here for you, too. :)

  • @daWallet Thank you for your reply, and I'm looking forward to what @haitch has to say. I too am very optimistic about this asset.

I would like to add one more suggestion. I have highlighted in the picture what I believe to be the most valuable adspace on the forum as it's designed right now. That little spot is $$$. I suggest trying out affiliate text links such as "8TB Mining Drive For $180" or whatever the best price you can find. With an adserver solution, this can be geotargetted as well. Autorefreshing of the ad space such as an iframe every minute or so could be implemented. Also, this would be a very lucrative spot to offer for direct sales.

Also, I know you probably don't like google services much after your account was dropped, but they still are the leader in website tracking. It also takes the load off of your server.

@ryanw The piwik links blew up when I had to move to the multi proxy setup to stop the site being taken down by the DDoS attacks. I haven't figured out the exact why's and wherefore's that Piwik broke yet, but will be back on it when I get home - out of town at the moment with dubious internet connectivity.

  • @haitch Ok. I know you two have other things on your plate, but I want to stress that building this out now will enable you to cash in on future traffic increases. Unfortunately, this isn't a set it and forget it thing. It's a lot of work tweaking ads and offers and seeing what works best. It's something you need to stay on top of constantly.

  • admin

@ryanw daWallet is managing it due to my limited availability. We're doing our best to stay on top of it - but real life often interferes with crypto life.... Sorry.

  • @haitch @daWallet

I would like to also turn your attention to co-reg advertising possibilities. These are completely unobtrusive to the regular visitor of the forum. Basically, you add a little javascript to your forum registration code, and a person can check whether or not they want to sign up to an email list....that's it.

At the very least, this could possibly help fund a faucet. I wouldn't mind if some of my BURSTize dividends were used for faucet donations...We would have to see what everyone else thinks.

  • admin

@ryanw Something we can look at, but the first issue would be just finding the registration code, second would be incorporating it.
