About to replot 44.5TB and just want to make sure I have this correct, 3rd try!
-
So I am going to repot my 44.5TB as I am getting pretty much 10 Burst a day atm. So I wanted to put down what I am using for the GPU plotter and if anyone sees something wrong please let me know. I have tried to plot this out with the wallet and had to many problems and stopped. Most the problems came from plotting on a VM that was on a ESXI 6.5 host, would say that was 90% of the issue. The other issue was just time or it would just stop plotting on my gaming PC. So GPU plotting seemed like it was going well, I would get home and it would be done but I would have to optimize the file even though I was using direct and I thought that was odd but it turns out that was probably the problem I am having now, it was not plotting right. Now I have changed the last line of each bat file as I think that might be the issue. It was set at 16384 and now I have it at 8192. I have a Nvidia 1070 8GB card. But from what I understood 16384 to the GPU plotter meant 4GB but I am going to change it anyway.
So question is does my bat files look correct so that I do not get an error and they will be optimized? Also anyone plot with a Nvidia 1070 8GB yet? If so can you look at my devices file? From what I have read if that is incorrect I will see many issues. As always thank you for the help! Been working on this for a month now and not getting very far, in fact I am back at the begging lol, if there is an error I have seen it so far. Can't wait to get to the point of hitting start mining and relax!
This is my nounce calculations for 4TB drives (I know this puts me missing 90GB on each drive but I have bat files to fill in the gaps later)

@Jason83 so all your plots are going to be over lapped because your start nonce is the same for all the plots.
The math is Start Nonce + Number Nonces plotted + 1 = New start nonce
0+14868480 + 1 = 14868481
14868481 + 14868481 + 1 = 29736962
29736962 +29736962 + 1 = 59473925
.....
So on and so forthBut it looks like the nonces you generated are OK so you should be good to go.
Shameless plug for my pools in my sig (^.^)-b

Yeah I just did the +1 when I went to the next line. Didn't really show it above. I will change that.
-
I'd make it easier on the calculations by starting each drive / plot at a new round nonce number. The don't have to be close neighbors. But it doesn't hurt either way.
Example plot 1
key_100000000_14868480_8192
Example plot 2
key_200000000_14868480_8192
Example plot 3
key_300000000_14868480_8192
etc.-
Makes it easy to see which drive / plot got a block or had an error just by the number, without having to look up your drive table list.
-
If you replace a drive later with a larger capacity drive you'll have some spare room to snug it in without messing up the calculations.
Happy Mining!

@captinkid Awesome advice, I will do that.
I am going to change it to:
0+14868480=14868480
100000001+14868480=114868481
200000001+14868480=214868481
300000001+14868480=314868481
400000001+14868480=414868481
500000001+14868480=514868481
600000001+14868480=614868481
700000001+14868480=714868481
800000001+14868480=814868481
900000001+14868480=914868481
1000000001+14868480=1014868481
1100000001+14868480=1114868481
1200000001+14868480=1214868481Also I saw your post on another topic. I think that is what I am looking for the most. The GPU settings for my 1070 cause it seems to error once complete. I will try what you wrote.

@Jason83 I use 50Million between plots.
-
@captinkid wow using 0 0 1024 16 4096 as my settings on the Nvidia 1070 brought the nonces from 15k before to 39098.18 after! wow!
-
@Jason83 Cool! Glad it helped. Nvidia Cards seem to like a higher work size and a lower thread and per plot.
-
@captinkid I am not sure what happened, seemed to plot out just fine, once the drive was filled (took bout 12 hrs to do so) it starts counting up percent at this time to finish, it seems stuck or moving extremely slow. its been probably 24 hours now and just shows 20%, is this normal? or should I redo again?

I use 60 million :)

So does anyone know about an average time the gpu plotter takes once it has finished plotting (drive space indicates it is done) but the percent is counting up? Last time it would error out here, this time it's moved about 20% in over 24hrs.

https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/5838/gpu-plotting-direct-mode-why-does-it-suck-so-bad
TL;DR - Make sure you have the latest GPU plot generator...
https://github.com/bhamon/gpuPlotGenerator/releases/tag/v4.1.1Older versions of the GPU plotter would take day(s) to simply generate a BLANK file, and then start generating nonces...
Edit: If you have an older version, it still will work... once the file size gets to the proper size, then it will start actually plotting the file. So, if it says you are at 20%... you have to wait for the other 80% of the nonces to be generated. Which is counter-intuitive, and fixed in v4.1.1, where it instantly creates the blank file (instead of writing 0's to the file for days before actually starting to plot).
