Blockchain download stuck at 87%
-
Hi,
Is anyone else having problems downloading the block chain to their local wallet?
I see that about a year ago there were problems with blockchain downloads.
I have tried to download the block chain many times now and it never works. I've let it run for weeks (with a few different version of the wallet) and it has never completed. Thankfully this doesn't prevent me from mining but it does make me wonder what is wrong.
Here is what I've tried:
- Read a bunch of articles about downloading from db.burst-team.us/db.zip and tried it but the domain doesn't work.
- Removed and reinstalled the burst wallet from burst-team.us (I have the latest version).
- I've cleaned my DB many times now.
- I have updated to the latest Java.
- I've restarted the machine many times now.
- I've set the block chain to use 100% of my CPU for validation.
Thanks for your thoughts on this,
Jay

Mine is also taking forever. No answer for you, though.

It's difficult to retrace this problem. If it stays way too long at some percentage close the client in the tray. Wait. Then restart the client.

@vmantilla - Thanks I appreciate the info! Helps me to figure out if it's my rig or something else.

@daWallet - Thank you too. This last attempt has been over 24 hours (It's been stuck at 87% for about 10 hours now). I'll give it another day then try what you're offering here. Much appreciated!

Ok, so in the last 9 hours it went up 1%... so... not stuck! Yay! But remarkably slower than the rest of the blockchain.
For anyone wondering:
It takes about 24 hours to get to 87% Then it took 10 more hours to get to 88%.

Ok so after 11 hours it is at 91%. It seems to be working. I guess this post was not really needed but it was nice to meet all you guys! So... There is that...
:)
This is my first interaction with this forum. It has been a good experience.
Thanks so much that!

I'll need to withdraw my last post. I'm running the latest Burst wallet (3.9.7).
Once it hits 91% it never moves and the wallet gets stuck in a "Not Responding" state forever and can't be shutdown gracefully.
Sadly (I learned this the hard way)... If you terminate the burst wallet the local wallet will never start unless you clean the DB (which means you have to download/verify all over again).
@djhoefakker - Thanks again for sharing the download location you found. I'll definitely give it a shot.
I'm also going to book an issue on GitHub for it.Or maybe not... haha I can't find any place to book an issue specifically for the wallet. :)

Try, go to Burst Wallet config --> enable debug --> Pop Off some blocks with the API
