I'm sorry to lose pennywise :(because @haitch didn't clean the DB :P before starting the pool. and technically were all competitors when you maintain a pool since we all want to get the miners :}
-
@ccminer I'll put PennyWise 2 on the ccMiner pool for a while when it's built.
-
@haitch Far from certain about the 5%, just because you have called it High Roller does not mean that these Miners play like High Rollers :-) I would have thought there was a case for a low fee? We will see.......

@RichBC Yep, we'll see, as I said in the OP, this is not your average Ninja pool, and parameters can be tweaked if need be.
-
So solo mining is at least 5 percent more profitable. Depending how lucky you are?
Do i just set local in jminer settings instead? the 127.0.0.1 or whatever it is? Do i also have to have the wallet open at all timeS?
-
@ChuckNorris if your super lucky it could be 25% more profitable since your not share the other 20% with other users on the pool.
-
@manfromafar Any guides to setup solo mining?
With jminer
-
@ChuckNorris Another option might be to setup your own private local pool, did it with Lex's fork of the Uray pool code and it worked a treat and fairly easy to setup.
-
@iKnow0 Sounds great and all. But sounds like a lot of work. I'm very busy managing farms right now. I don't have time to do payouts and all of that jazz
-
@ChuckNorris you wont need to, only you will be mining at the pool.
-
@iKnow0 Ohh i see. I just took a look at pool setup. Still looks like a lot of work. I'd rather pay small fee to pool mine. Or solo. i just need to take a min to figure out solo setup.
-
@ChuckNorris It's not quite that simple - you lose the 5% for the fee, and share the block 80/20 with other miners, so you'll get less for any block you mine; however, you also get paid for blocks others mine. Theoretically, the diff between solo and a pool with 5% fee will be 5%, but it could vary either way.
-
@haitch How long do you think it will take to hit a block with ~ 24TB?
-
@HiDevin You should hit at least 1 per week.
-
be interesting to see a pool mirror this one as a 20/80 split with high block count on historic , would reduce Luck factor alot. i know i think differently than most lol
-
@Gibsalot A socialist pool rather than a Capitalist one? If there is interest in mining on that sort of pool I'll build it.
-
@haitch i know odd that i would think that way lol considering my political stance makes me seem a hipocrat

5% may sound high on the surface but don't forget if you're in a 1% fee pool that pays out after 25 or 30 accumulated burst you're paying 4-5% fee (transaction + pool fee).
This pool pays out after 1000B for a 0.1% transaction fee, or 5.1% fee.
So same as the 1% pool fee in essence.
As for the 80/20, after a reasonable period of time it is equivalent to 50/50, 60/40 etc.
-
@Gibsalot I don't have a problem with it - interesting concept. Get rewarded for long term loyalty to the pool.
