Wallet Download InfectedWith SCGGeneric Trojan Virus
-
Hi, I am new to mining, so decided to download the BurstCoin wallet so I can start mining. But when I went to install the exe file, my AVG virus protector told me that the program was infected with the SCG Generic Trojan. I used AVG to protect my computer and cancelled the installation.
Does anyone know anything about it, what to do from this point? As I would like to mine coins
Thanks in advance.

@MichaelvanDijk2 it could be a false positive. download it from https://www.burst-team.us/ and try again if the same result, then add an exception to your anti-virus program to allow it.

@iKnow0 thanks, what is a false positive? I will re download and try again.

@MichaelvanDijk2 a false positive is when your AV detects a virus that is not actually there. It flags the file as infected, when it's actually innocuous.

@haitch ok thanks, I am also getting the following issue,

@MichaelvanDijk2 I reported the threat in the wallet thread a while back.
you can download version 0.3.9.3 till this is solved

Had the exact same problem with Antivirus (from Avira). My complete access to the burst wallet folder was denied and I had to delete the virus scanner and dispose of the "burst_wallet.exe" (couldn´t make the virus scanner to accept an exception). Did then reinstall the scanner.
Had a bad feeling about this and decided to use the normal wallet client in future. I must admit, I still fear that my PC may be infected with something now.edit:
Above text sounds a bit harsh. I have to add that I don´t think the developers added a trojan on purpose. Most likely it is a false positive.
