@Jaxblack its a new bug/feature since the forum software was upgraded, a support ticket has been raised with forum software provider. But there is a work around as explained by @socalguy

@iKnow0 Interestingly, it doesn't seem to be affecting everybody - there are screenshots being uploaded in other threads.

It might be the size of the up load. Yesterday on the same thread two posts apart one small pic loaded but a bigger one didn't.

Seems to work now on all sizes???

@Blago Don't know why - I haven't changed anything ............. other than a restart of the forums server. Maybe something was just a little fubar on the previous startup.
