How to check plot integrity??
-
there is some software for check each plot???
-
I don't think there's been one made, I would like one too
-
@ItalianMiner72 @ZAPBUZZ Pretty sure there is a "Plot checker" software. Try searching or looking under "software".
-
@vprf That only verifies that the filesize matches the filename. There is nothing currently that verifies that the nonces within the file are not corrupt.
-
@vprf i think this is just to check nonce in file name to check for overlapper plots...
i mean about file integrity.
-
@ItalianMiner72 don't think there is. There is a solution, create the exact same plot in a new location, then do an byte per byte file comparison, seems pointless though i may be wrong.
-
Was just thinking that perhaps copy a plot to another disk as a backup to keep a checksum? checksums can be slow, however. Keeping a backup would be faster to copy over a more recently corrupted plot when miner errors occur that indicates its corrupted.

@iKnow0 If there is a difference between the two plot files - which one is correct ?
I wonder if it's possible that the plotter can generate an MD5 checksum from the in memory that can be compared to the on disk plot ?
-
@haitch I was thinking along the lines of a defective media in the original, Given that you know the new media is sound one could assume it is correct.
A checksum could be generated, by a plotter and stored along side a plot. Then one would only need to verify that the checksum is correct. This seems like a better approach, as it would be calculated in memory.

Since the xplotter plots like it does some kind of check would be nice.
A new person or anyone could start plotting 1tb then lets say it plots for 1 hour and stops. If you look at the file it will say 931gb so it must be done right? No just the file structure is finished and most the nonces are not written. The plot checks out fine and will mine but is 90% empty.
