Forum outage.
-
@haitch Upgrade completed without issue. Apologies for the downtime, but the cleanup of all the phantom sessions should make the site more responsive, and will enable us to upgrade to the current software versions as they become available.
-
@haitch Yeah I can already notice some differences, its faster on my side, to start... xD
-
@gpedro yeah - feels snappier here as well. Guess tracking 5.5 Million phantom sessions causes some overhead .........+
-
it does feel pretty faster now
-
Its super quick now, but doesnt allow login with IE just with the shitty Google Chrome (obviously as I couldnt type that currently)
-
@cc10000 I had the same problem until right exactly this moment. (Firefox -> Forbidden)
Now go to https://forums.burst-team.us/recent for example. Then CTRL + F5 or CTRL + R and try to login again. Thanks haitch for fixing it.
-
@cc10000 For others the opposite was the problem - every browser except Chrome would login, even Chrome in Incognito mode. I found a setting I could change in the proxy that seems to have been causing the problem. Once your browser cache expires, all browsers should work.

@Hitti2 Which browser do you use ??? I have it normal using chrome
-
@Hitti2 I don't get that, but you should be able to avoid it using "Zen Mode" when posting, click on the symbol that looks like an "X" - takes you into full screen editing mode.
-
@haitch Apparently the nodeBB admins hate me and are out to fuck with with me. 6 Hours after upgrading to to the 1.5.0 version that introduced a new bug with uploading images, they released version 1.5.1 that apparently fixes the problem. The forums will be going into maintenance mode in 15 minutes (6:10 CST) and the update will be applied. This should be a quick and easy update.
Did I just jinx myself ...... ?

Browser:
Palemoon Version: 27.3.0 (64-bit)
-
@haitch Update completed, 5 minute outage ......
-
@haitch that was hella fast
-
@keyd0s The updates are normally that fast. The jump from 1.4.5 to 1.5.0 required cleaning up 5.5 million phantom connections, and took several hours. However, as a result, the forums seem much snappier.
