Burst Ninja pool mining OK, but payouts seem frozen
-
@falconCoin , all in good time. it will be done at some point in the near future, but now there are more important things to take care of . ninja pool is down and there are almost 1k miners that can't mine now. once that is handled, we can point fingers later
-
@nameless I have moved to ccminer, which is a safe haven for the moment.
-
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience to all ninja's miners.
We are working on resolving the situation as quickly as possible.
The theft is obvious, as focus had the script that would auto-grab coin from ninja's payouts and send to another wallet, and as you can see by the txs, that's exactly what was being done here.
Thanks.

@crowetic I can accept that there has been a Theft, however how do we know it is Focus. Is this just a best guess, or can it only be him?

any idea when we're going to be getting out payments? should i switch pools while this is getting taken care of or will i eventually get all my burst im mining?
-
I already jumped out to a new pool and will keep an eye on when things come back online.

It's not mining right now, it's dead in the water. Hopefully you will get the deferred and queued payments if/when the stolen funds are recovered.

@RichBC The account that stole the funds was funded by a burst-team.us faucet for it's name change. I've asked if it's possible to link the funding request to an IP address, as the faucet tracks both. If it can be tracked, we can positively tie the address to an IP.
-
@haitch W
Yes I had checked the funding, so if we can link IP's that would be good. But what we are saying at the moment is that we do not know who stole the Funds.Rich
-
@RichBC No we do not know, but if the account ID to IP can be translated - then we will know.
-
@haitch So when will we have that info?

Does Burst has the ability to freeze an account for any transactions when 51% of network agrees
If so can we do that on hacked account. If there is no option, we could make it as an feature, so hacked accounts cant get away easily. Perhaps make 51% higher to may be 80% to avoid misuse, and use only under extreme situations

No that is not a good thing to do.
This happened because a few people who used to be friends had the password and then when they split up one of them rifled the checking account.
When the bromance split up the pool wallet should have been migrated to a different account IMO. But that never happened, so here we are.

@rds As long as @crowetic do not change the assignmemt address for .ninja we will se this movie again. You never know when @fanepatent need more money. Personally I will not join ninja as long as address is the same.
I will join in a bit ccminer pool.Agree, the pool has to lock it's door. I'm at cc as well now.

I am back!

'Wakes up' :-) Just back from 10h work day ... No i can not provide that IP, as faucet uses in-memory db ... in general it would be possible to access in-memory db with squirrel or something, but it needs to be configured to allow that ... and currently it is not ... as soon i shut down faucet ... the information is lost. How about notify assigned accounts at least ... no idea who is responsible for burst.ninja ... but as far as i know the account pw was known to not trustworthy users before, so why after all is it still the same account?!
Accounts assigned to burst.ninja:
http://localhost:8125/burst?requestType=getAccountsWithRewardRecipient&account=BURST-7CPJ-BW8N-U4XF-CWW3U

@crowetic, Good question, I will not be back on Ninja until this is resolved. Anyone on there now must love to gamble with their earnings as they are not safe if a rogue has the pool account password.
