Forking...
-
i should have never left my original pool seems i cannot get in anywhere now..
-
from all the feedback to me it feels like pools being ddos'd i cant even load any of @haitch s pools on my browser ... noone else is experiencing this?
-
@darindarin is it just the gui or does mining not work? You can always return to whatever your original pool was?!
-
@luxe both GUI and miner ... and i cant morally and ethically go back to the pool i was in .. (miningclub) nor does it matter cause the problem started there and it seems to be down.. i planned on leaving anyway and was using this as an opportunity..
-
@darindarin .party is up and is current.
-
this is my issue its like im stuck in nomans land .. it wont let me change again until my last change registers.. and .. that was 2 hours ago.. at burstcoin.eu and miner wont even turn on there for me.
-
@darindarin if pools are how ever under attack the mining software can not do anything against it ... sure there are still available pools out there, tross, lex or the one @socalguy mentioned ... sry nothing i can do ... i do not run any pools.
You have to wait 4 blocks after re-assign award to another pool ... or you get the error from above ...
-
@luxe i understand is there anyway to reset the first error ( reward assignment ) i have posted just above your last response? cause it seems im stuck .. untill .eu opens up again ..
-
@luxe im aware of the 4 blocks.. its been two hours.. :(
-
shutting down the wallet and restarting it enabled me to change reward assignment again.. go figure.. was that easy .. i think im in pool party will wait the four blocks. thanks for listening and will report back if i have any more issues. but i think im good
-
@darindarin Your last reward assignment should now be active ... has 4 confirmations ... http://burstcoin.biz/transaction/5380289608643620246

Honestly, with all the drama that happened with the community, I kind of expected the network to go through some craziness. It was all rainbows and ice cream for awhile.
I hope things calm down after the weekend is done.

@luxe said in Forking...:
@Energy Please remember that the chart from burstcoin.cc you posted, does not show the whole picture, the page just asks every listed entry in a given interval for mining info ... so on fast blocks or long interval due to how long connection takes ... data may be missing and the chart can look like above ... i can see no fork there. Just missing information for nodes that switched directly from e.g. block#10 to block12. But thats just a lack of information from burstcoin.cc, no network issue for burst.
A fork would be two bars with same block height but different generation signature hash [e75d..].
If I know, I just put the image as an example, but it has been like this all week when last week has been more stable, I can not put more because I do not take screenshots.
I know that image alone says nothing, but if we see that some pools are not working at all well something happens.

-
@luxe is that the .eu address? i still cant even log their website..

-
@darindarin if you restart the wallet it takes some time to connect to a bunch of peers ... if you start and make a transaction instant, without waiting for being connected to some peers, your transaction may be delayed due not propagated to the network fast enough to be included in next block. That could have caused the long time you had to wait. Because transactions get re-propagated but only after a few blocks.
-
@luxe does that explain these huge gaps in my miner?
havent seen those yet. and network quality at 13% ... hmmmm
-
@Energy Sure it looks strange, but again no fork there ... burstcoin.cc is running on same server than some of the pools so the requests it does, may also be affected by same issues the pools have.
-
@darindarin No it just explains why your reward assignment took that long ...
-
@luxe But I have not talked about fork, I just said that this instable do not know if because they are attacking the pools or that
-
@luxe this has been a weird day (frustrated emoji face)
