ERROR 1009 Woah There! At least give me a couple of seconds to service other miners!
-
@HiDevin It's a pool error, not a miner error. I accidently set the pool time into the future, so it was triggering the pools rate limiting feature. I've corrected the issue and your account. You can restart your miner to get in on this round, otherwise it'll be ok next round.
-
@HiDevin it's not error. It's pool's message - too many deadlines need to recheck, server did not have resources for complite requests from all miners

ERROR 1009 Woah There! At least give me a couple of seconds to service other miners!@Blago , @luxe , Is there a list of miner errors somewhere? It would help to see what is possible and also if it had standard explanations maybe lower the first time questions. At least a place where everyone could go to look first before posting for help. Just a thought.

@rds The rate limiting error isn't one that will normally occur, but because I had the pool time in the future and @HiDevin submitted a block while it was there, all the subsequent blocks he submitted after the time was corrected, and the same thing happened to me, appeared to the pool to being submitted too quickly. With the pool on the correct time, it won't happen again.
-
@haitch , I get what you're saying, specifically. I'm just saying, I assume @Blago coded those error messages into his program (same for Jminer @luxe), it would be nice if they were listed somewhere and people knew where to look for them. Maybe they are listed somewhere, I just am not aware of where that is.
-
@rds The error is being returned by the pool, not the miner, the pool was confused about the time so created the error message, Blago's miner just echo'd it.

Ahh, I see, so then I'll expand my wish list to a list of pool errors that are coded into the pool code :)
It could be a sticky in the forum called "Look here first if you get an error code".
Broken down into:
Wallet error codes
error 5, etc.
Miner error codes
error 1013 etc,
Pool error codes
error 1009 etc.Again, just a thought.

@rds Off the top of my head, the pool errors are:
- Your Reward Assignment is wrong.
- Your block was good for the last Block, you're on the wrong block.
- Your DL exceeds our DL limit.
- Your DL is REALLY bad. (Normally a bad plot)
- And the rate limiting, you're submitting too fast.
-
@haitch ,
Yes, I've seen these and I know what they mean but what I'm saying is every day someone new asks the same questions about errors. You spend all day answering them (moving boxes). I'm suggesting to build an error database library for all to access (the automatic box moving machine), so you won't be "too busy moving boxes to build an automatic box moving machine". Should free up some of your valuable time.
-
@rds I thought there was one already, but I can't find it. I'll create a post and add it to the FAQ section.

Exactly, now what are you going to do with all that spare time freed up from not answering individual error code questions :)
-
@rds Point people to the error code FAQ post ...... ;-)

Very nice, I'm sure as we stumble on or remember others we can add to it as a living document. As a single post though, if there are a bunch of replies to the OP it gets cluttered and lost. Thanks,
