@ItalianMiner72 The IBM M1115 Controller is a solid choice, and you can pick up a refurbished one at newegg.com for cheap: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIACSJ57G0575&cm_re=pci-e_sas_hba--14G-000B-00067--Product

@ItalianMiner72 I use this: https://www.amazon.com/IO-Crest-Controller-Non-Raid-SI-PEX40064/dp/B00ESFEI2E
Its good for Mining, you can go for higher ones if budget allows.

@ItalianMiner72 SAS or SATA? Subject says SAS, body says SATA ?
-
but if i understend right SAS to SATA is the cable to split 1 SAS port to 4 SATA HDD.
something like this..
https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Internal-Mini-SAS-Breakout/dp/B012BPLYJC/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1494100843&sr=1-3&keywords=SAS+sata
but in ultimate istance the controller is used for SATA hdd..
But there are a lot around!!!
i read good things about LSI...
but if there are cheapest alternative will be appreciated!!!
-
@ItalianMiner72 SAS controllers can manage both SAS and SATA drives, a SATA controller can only do SATA.
LSI is good, and the IBM I mentioned above uses an LSI chipset.
-
ok!
it seems good..
but newegg won't ship to EU...
any EU Alternative??
-
@ItalianMiner72 I don't know the EU alternatives to NewEgg sorry - As an alternative, you can get it shipped to me and I'll reship to you for the cost of postage.
