Cannot plot Network Drive (Error 3)
-
I am trying to write plots to an OpenMediaVault Network Drive (Windows is recognising it as an NTFS drive), although i get an error 3, 'Can't create directory z:\burst\plots\ for plots.. i have tried creating it manually but with no luck.. any ideas?
Thanks

@technoeuan Were you able to create the directory structure manually? If not, then you have a problem with permissions on the NAS.
-
@haitch I can make the structure manually.. but with the same 'Can't create directory' error message.. even when it's there?
-
@technoeuan That is definitely odd - hopefully @daWallet will drop in and be able to help you.
-
@haitch Thanks

@technoeuan Maybe starting the Win Client with Admin Permissions can help.
It seems the plotter doesn't have full write permissions on that network drive. You could also plot on another drive and then send the files over there.
-
@daWallet Thanks. I was considering plotting them elsewhere first.. but when doing a test transfer, it said that the file has properties that can't be copied to the new location.. can this be ignored?
-
@technoeuan What format is the NAS? If it's Fat32 that could be your problem, reformat as NTFS.
-
@haitch According to properties on windows, it's reading as NTFS... no idea how to check on the NAS :P

@technoeuan If windows is reporting it as NTFS, then it should be NTFS, sorry - but I'm out of ideas.
