Plotting with AIO wallet vs. other plotter
-
Hey guys,
So I got my 5tb external HDD yesterday and started to plot a 500gb plot just to test speeds and such and it has now been running for 24 hours and is sitting at 18%, is this normal speeds for plotting with the AIO wallet? How much faster would it be with one of the other plotters?
Sorry i'm still learning :)

@Eq GPU plotter is faster, GPU needs to be open CL 2.0 or better. Post your system specs and we can help you further.

Alright sounds good.
I am running:
intel i5 4670 @ 3.4ghz
AMD Radeon HD 7800
8gb RAMThanks

that GPU should out-perform xplotter with your i5, do a test and see how they compare.

Thanks so much for your help!!
Multiplied my plotting speed x8 !!! Awesome!!
Sending you a small tip friend :)

@Eq No need to apologize. Also did you choose buffer or direct for GPU plotting?

I chose buffer, which would you recommend?

@Eq Direct mode would generate optimized plots. Slower than buffer mode, but worth the waiting time.
Xplotter also generates optimized plots. so, your speed comparison should be between Direct in GPU and Xplotter.

@Eq You will want to have an optimized plot for mining. The mining software will access the plot file a lot faster when you do this. Like @rnahlawi mentioned, Direct plotting takes longer and you have to watch the harddrive space decrease as a backwards way of checking status as the ETA on GPU Direct plotting isn't constantly updated in realtime. If will look like it's frozen for the first day or so.

You can still use GPO buffer, but have the option to run something like PlotOptimizer when you are done. BUT you will need an additional drive with enough space to create the new 5TB plot, so in a sense 10TB total. If the extra 5TB of free space is not available, you have the CPU plot or GPU Direct plot as your only options.

Awesome, thanks so much for all the reply's I will definitely test both of those.
Another quick question:
So I have a 250gb plot on my main drive (c:), if I am creating my new plots on a different drive (e:), do I have to make sure to not write over the same nonces still? or can I start back at 0 for every drive? Thanks again guys!
-
@Eq You need continue plotting. If you first plot like xxx_0_yyy_zzz, second plot must be startnonce = 0+yyy
xxx_yyy_nonces_zzz
-
@Eq If you already have one starting at 0 from that 250GB, then no, you're other drive can't start at 0. There's nothing to stop you from doing this, but when you mine, you will get plot overlap errors in the miner. I'd say though, if you plan on deleting the 250GB plot once your new 5TB plot is finished, that will be ok, as the 5TB can be your new drive to mine with (minus the 250GB). If you plan on growing your mining farm, then also no, those can't start at 0 either.

Sounds good, thanks again guys!
