Mining Using Multiple Types of External Hard Drives
-
Hello Everyone,
I am mining with 2 4TB Buffalo External, 1.5 TB WD Book, 1 500mb WD passport and 1 500MB secondary internal HDD. The speed of the drives are different. There are some with 7200 and others with 5400 read/write speeds. I used the xplotter.avx attached to the Burst Client to write the plots and when I tried using the 1.03 optimizer it gave me the message the drive is already categorized.
Should I run different speed and size drives when mining Burstcoin? It seems when I use just the larger drives, it gives me more found/sent/confirmed messages when mining. Is this coincidental or is there something to it? Thanks in advance.

@dcozzi You don't need optimizer after xplotter, the plots already optimized with xplotter.
they will all find DLs later, you can post a screenshot of your miner

@rnahlawi Thanks for your response. Your answer could be a separate topic because I know there are others who could be asking the same question about optimizing.
Any idea on the multiple drives?
-
@dcozzi its not related, the miner will read each drive separately and not combined. I'm using many drives with multiple speeds and different technologies!
BTW, which miner are you using?
-
@dcozzi multiple drives with different speed - it's not problem
-
@rnahlawi I am using the one with Burst Client....miner-v1.160705.
-
@dcozzi yep, i'm too :)

@Blago Mine will run with the different drives with this miner. I'm wondering if the different hard drive configurations will change on the back end mining. On mine, it seems the small drives have more found/sent DL's than the larger drivers. Not sure if it is coincidental or something is going on??

@dcozzi I have an internal 1tb drive and a wd my book 8tb. Exact same question.
My 1tb drive seems to be getting all of the confirmed dls.
