Accidently unplugged drive while plotting - how to continue without starting over?
-
@gwagner From a command prompt running as administrator, go to: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\BurstWallet\XPlotter
Then do:
xplotter_avx -id 10017538526805608487 -sn 400000001 -n 18483200 -t <number of threads> -path d:\burst\plots
Replace <number of threads> with the number of CPU threads you want.
-
How will I know how many threads I want / how many will fit?
-
@gwagner It depends on what your CPU is - assuming a Quad core with hyperthreading use 7 or 8, if something different adjust it to number of threads your CPU supports, or optionally one less
-
@haitch are you out of luck if your file starts with a 0 after a sudden disconnect?
i had a small issue then i saw the 0 starting the file name and remember reading something @daWallet said a while ago about it being bad.. instead of 2 hours reading i just deleted and started over.
-
@darindarin Starting at nonce 0 isn't bad, as long as that's what you intended to do.
what plotter were you using ?
-
@haitch aio wallet
-
@darindarin The AIO won't create a plot file starting at nonce 0, so there was a problem with the plot.
-
@haitch its the only plotter ive ever used though.. im simple i wouldnt be mining burst if it wasnt this easy..
-
@darindarin @daWallet did great work in creating the AIO - I got into it the manual way and had to learn how to do the plotting and mining manually, once you learn, it's not that hard.
-
@haitch i misread what you said.. yes. the reason for the sudden disconnect was that i was plotting on only two cores but my computer was barely usable and i couldnt get to task manager or anything .. i voted on now being a good time to learn how to restart the plot where it left off and rebooted the computer..
i rebooted and when i was following your instructions i saw the 0 and remember @dawallet saying it was bad or something .. being a small plot i said meh deleted and started over.... i tried to plot on just 1 core and everything moving way faster and already finished
-
@darindarin yeah, if you let the plotter use all cores it's unpleasant .....
