pool.burst-team.us payout confusion
-
@BurstMiner1 I can see it once I figured out where to look - in the obvious place I didn't think of - the pool config:
"currentBlockRewardPercent": "60", // Reward for this block "recentBlockHistoryDepth": "40", // reward for historic blocks "maximumPayoutBlockDelay": "360", // maximum number of blocks to defer payout.
-
I was surprised as well about the "big boys" understanding of the payout structure.
If you are mining a small TB, to quickly determine if the pool payout is what you think it is you look for the next block that looks like the pool will hit and then look at the top two or three miners for the block and validate they get their share of the current and historical. Then decimals won't matter as they should be getting 100s of Burst in payouts.
Also, to determine the 60/40 or other split as configured by the pool owner, you need to copy the entire table of current, preferably during a long block when no more DLs are being submitted. Copy the historic table as well. Paste it into a spreadsheet.
The current shares should add up to 60% of 2146-% fee and the historic should add up to 40% of 2146-%fee.
Cheers, hope this helps.

@haitch Thanks haitch. I don't mean to be a PITA, however it may be that for whatever reason I could be missing out on current block shares. Who knows? It could be a bug? And without you having the means to say so it seems more could be done to account for it all. Thanks again.
-
@rds Yeah I get that and that would be a good indication of the pool working correctly however I am not going to rule out whether the issue could be some bug directly with my wallet or something like that.
-
@BurstMiner1 I can query the backend database and get you some recent block payouts so you can see if they add up, but you'd need a list of your percentage values for both current block and historic share for each of the won rounds for it to be of any use.
-
@haitch Ok I will investigate this and get some %'s on hand and I'll let you know which blocks to query. Thanks again.
-
When you get a chance could you please have a look at block 331119? For your convenience my address is
BURST-B8G8-LB8F-3QQG-HHC3Z
I just need the total payout for that block. Cheers.

On which pool am I looking ?

@BurstMiner1 mysql>
select blockID, accountID, amount from Rewards where blockID = "331119" and accountID = "18412210141346961862";
+---------+----------------------+-----------+
| blockID | accountID | amount |
+---------+----------------------+-----------+
| 331119 | 18412210141346961862 | 193734903 |
+---------+----------------------+-----------+

@haitch Ok so my calculations are as follows
Block 331119
Current: 0.22
Historical: 1.87Payout before fee 2.09 BURST. 209000000 (This number is probably higher but cannot get that information)
209000000 x .98 for fee adjustment gives 204820000 or 2.04820000 BURST.Am I correct in assuming 193734903 is 1.93734903 BURST? The difference would be 0.11085097 BURST? Around 5% difference?
Let me know if my assumptions are incorrect I may be missing something crucial. Thanks.

I'll sit down and go over the %'s but this code has been running for 2 years so doubt it's wrong.

@BurstMiner1 I'm old and cant read that graphic - but whats your point ?
-
@haitch Interesting to know if anyone has ever bothered to look?
-
@haitch It shows the payouts right before the block was completed. The upload scaled the image.
-
@haitch Could you please run a query on block 331148 when possible? Would like to get more samples to give a better indication if anything is going wrong. Cheers.
-
@BurstMiner1 To make the maths easier / more obvious why don't you have a look at the payouts for someone who is mining with a larger TB to confirm that the Block Winning Share is included for the other Miners?

@RichBC Yeah that is sound logic however given the discrepancies I don't see how any form of simplified maths could account for it. Even if the payouts for current and historical are rounded to the closest hundredth of a BURST it still doesn't cut the cake for the 5% difference.
I suspect something else is at play here, and always have. I just haven't had the time to look into it, now I do and it seems I was correct in my suspicions so I am more than happy to continue with my own case perhaps you will do the same for yourself if you are using same pool?
If my maths is right what if it's happening for everyone in the pool? Who has even bothered to check? Not many I imagine. 5% is a ton of BURST if this has been happening since day one. The other question then would be where on earth is the BURST going? The pool.burst-team.us asset? The pool operators pocket? I can only speculate for now. Looking forward to displaying more conclusive evidence so stay tuned.

@BurstMiner1 Some time ago I did do the maths on ninja to understand how the payouts were calculated and my recollection is that it was as haitch has described.. However I will take a look again.
