My weekly earnings seem WAY too low... help trouble-shooting please!
-
I've been mining burst for several months now and appreciate that help that I got from this forum in getting things up and running.
I recently realized that the amount of Burst I am mining in a given week seem really low given that I now have 19TB across 5 external HDDs plotted. So in checking a couple of calculators, it seems that I should be getting around about 10,000 per week, but I am not getting anywhere close to that, even in a good week! In a typical week, I am getting about 200-300 daily + maybe one hit of 700-1100 on one day if lucky. So, that's maybe 2000-2500 or maybe 3000 on a very very good week. I understand that calculators are usually not 100% accurate so I don't expect to hit that 10k exactly, but certainly would expect to be much closer to it than 2k, so wondering if I might have a technical issue.
Here are my specs:
- PC#1: 2 Seagate 5TB / 8TB plotted (60% optimized) / 31 Mb/s read time speed
- PC#2: 3 Seagate 5TB / 11TB plotted (45% optimized) / 40 Mb/s read time spead
So, a total of 19TB with about 50% of those files being optimized. I am using the windows GIU burst client v0.3.5... using it to launch AVX mining and have both PCs logged into my online Burst wallet.
The one thing I have noticed (not sure if this could be my problem) is that when I launch mining on either PC, I get a bunch of red warnings about plot files being overlapped. These started to show up after I began optimizing files by run the plotopt exe through a command window prompt... effectively writing the new opt file to a different drive than the original was on, they deleting the original after complete. I was told previously that this was common practice but not sure why I am getting those overlap errors at startup or if they are what is causing my issue.
Any advice here would be appreciated. I have a 6th HDD ready to open and start mining with but want to make sure I can get my system mining closer to expectation before adding it.

@GabryRox where are you mining?
-
I am pretty sure it is "burst-team.us" but can't seem to find where to validate that
-
@GabryRox Go to a pool with a higher dl. Some pool that is small but gets blocks might be where to go.

Here are most the pools you could choose from. There is another overview link but couldnt find it. but here is a start Good luck!

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!
So, I am looking at the list of pools you linked and believe I might understand the issue. I am indeed with burst-team.us as I was able to match that CC62C address in my client to their address listed on that page. I see that we have mined 302 blocks over the past 10 days, but if I understand correctly, there are 1784 miners that those blocks are getting dispersed to. By contrast, burstcoin.biz pool mined a few more blocks (339) but only has 486 active miners so the share per miner is a lot more.
However, this probably also means that the average miner in that pool has a lot more TB mining so not quite sure how to make the ultimate decision. I have heard that ninja is primarily for those with large HDD farms so will probably not try that right away. I think for now I will give burstcoin.biz a try and see what happens.
Thanks again... any other tips would be appreciated.
Anyone think that overlap notification could be an issue? If so, how would i go about rectifying that?

Something may have gone wrong in the optimising / file deletion process? You need to make a note of the Red error messages and find out which plots are overlapped? Could be that you are mining with a lot less TB than you think?

Thanks RichBC... it's actually quite a few of them... 6 are listed on pc#2 and probably twice that many on pc#1. I believe that the newly optimized files are fine because I always notice overall speed increased after doing this. And, the total GB mined count doesn't go down (yellow text counting bar at bottom of window) so it at least APPEARS that all blocks are being mined.
I will take a screen shot of all of the files mentioned and reconcile vs what I am actually seeing in the folders with plots in them and see if that sheds any light on the situation.
On another note, after changing both PC's over to Pool Acct ID for burstcoin.biz, I am now getting error 1004's saying "You need to change reward assignment and wait 4 blocks". It says that my burst account's reward recipient <BURST-6WVW-2WVD-YXE5-EZBHU> address (for bc.biz) does not match the pool's account <BURST-32TT-TSAC-HTKW-CC26C> (burst-team.us address).
I only changed to the new pool address in the start mining window. Do i need to do it somewhere else too? It seems my client is still expecting the burst-team.us pool address for some reason.

ah nevermind on that last part... I just realized that i also needed to select the new pool from the dropdown menu on the right. looks to be working now, althgough i did get a wierd message about my nonce deadline being REALL BAD 202566 years, so not sure what that;'s about

If its mine or lexitoshi pool it long dl that slip by the filters lol
-
ive been getting alot of skips on burstmining club pool
: dl '14058426' > '1296000' skipped
ones like those between 4 to 6 each round
-
@ZapbuzZ I seen that too when I used jminer early last year. I think all miners find huge dl but not all show it. On blago miner you can set dl limit but cant remember about jminer. The dl is way too high any way so dont matter if skipped
you can rewrite it to be more understandable.
dl '162.713264 Days' > '15 Days' skipped
Look in your conf it there is something written about deadlines.
Look at what dl the pool accepts.
Hope this helps!
-
@ZapbuzZ jminer just tells you with this skipped ones, how close you came to a deadline that would be accepted by pool. Every pool delivers max the deadline it would accept by calling
[poolurl]/burst?requestType=getMiningInfo
So jminer only skipps deadlines that would not be accepted by pool anyway.
-
@luxe thanks luxe thats cool do you know of pools or a list of pools that shows their deadline limits please?
-
@ZapbuzZ http://util.burst-team.us:8888/ look in column 'TargetDeadline'
-
Hey what are the current pools that are good to mine from?
with under 15TB or 10 TB?
I currently have 4TB.
