Double standard much......

  • admin

@kmaxkmax Can you post a link to those rules? Or are they whatever their mods think appropriate at the time ?

  • Maybe I've missed so much by being so new, but even a couple weeks ago I don't think I've ever felt this place was under any sort of rule.

I know one this is for sure though... there is no reason there needs to be any kind of "turf war" and I think it lays in the hands of the admins from both sides to sit down and have a discussion about it... Sure we can't control everyone's actions, but it seems like a ton of the issues are coming from people who were mod/admin here before going over there to sit in the same seat on that forum.

Whatever's in the past needs to fking stay there and we need to look forward... this "decentralized" movement is starting to look a lot like politics in Washington....

@DougLife You're right, the rules here are very loose, you've got to try hard to get a post deleted, or to get banned.

That said, I've done more of that in the last couple of days than the 18 months the forums have been running.

The former mods had their own ideas about how forums should be run, didn't discuss with me, and went and set up their own alternative. Whatever. This place will continue to be what it's alway's been - the best place to get started with Burst, and a great place to hang out with like minded Bursters.

  • At this rate of diversion and disagreement between key community members, I fear for burst as a whole. I think what makes burst apart from other coins is the strong community. Without it, I think it would be worth way less. I could even see a fork in the blockchain if this amount of hostility continues, (one with qora combining with burst: crowetic's plan, and one with just how it is right now)

  • admin

@stupendelious A disagreement between two sets of forums won't hurt the coin - in a week or two this will have blown over and be considered a storm in a tea cup. The values behind the coin are more important than what happens in these forums.

  • @haitch I fear that if this continues it won't just be a vocal fight on the forums.

  • I'm with @rapidfireman on this one. I imagine some not so nice blackhat stuff will be going on if this doesn't get resolved in some fashion...

  • @haitch In many coins I would agree, but as I said I feel like burst is all about the community. If this does blow over it will be fine, but having to separates forums with 2 groups of people who are hostile to each other, now that sounds like a civil war within burst.

  • admin

@rapidfireman This will blow over, all on line turf wars do.

The only change is that like in any trade war, we're now applying the other sides rules to them.

This will blow over and in the end will not hurt Burst.

  • @haitch Whether it hurts burst as a whole or not, what about the people deeply involved in this.

  • admin

@stupendelious There are a lot of people who are happily co-existing on both sites, the disagreements are between a small subset of the community.

  • @haitch I really don't understand the disagreements fully enough to give my opinions but this really pisses me off

The "Official" hub. Fuck off calling yourself the "official" runners of burstcoin. The only person that has the right to say that is the guy that created burstcoin.

  • IMHO @haitch I think this whole thread should be removed, and you should make a single locked thread stating something along the lines of "trash talking / disrespecting / negativity towards other forums on this forum will not be tolerated" and have that be the end of it over here.

  • admin

@stupendelious Thanks ... burstcoin has no official anything ... it is a community project with a lot contributing users, but no hierarchy or lead ...

  • admin

@DougLife No. I'm done with being nice. They are trash talking these forums, me personally, other members here - this thread is public for people to see and comment on their hypocrisy and double standards. Asking why I got banned is reason to be banned again ?

  • @haitch Ok.

  • The most important part of burstcoin is its network and blockchain, as long as you are with the longest chain, you will be fine. Those who think that individuals are somehow more important than the network itself or the people maintaining its security are those who don’t actually understand how cryptocurrency really works. They are not in it for its ideals but are more there because they see it as an opportunity to scam and make a quick buck and these types of individuals seem to have a very short shelf life.

There is nothing to worry about over here, competition is healthy, it can be dirty sometimes as in the real world but over the long run it is content quality that will make the difference between the forums. If I were a betting man, I would put my money on this forum to survive and thrive and get much bigger in the future.

There are people who believe that any publicity is good publicity and that’s exactly what’s going on here, they are using this “war” to bring more members and page views to their website and some guys are unfortunately falling for it. “Ignore the troll” and the troll will just go back and hide in its cave.

A web designer can give you the best-looking forum but what he/she can’t give you is history, cumulative knowledge in this forum’s threads and class.

For those who are worried about the timing, I say it is better that these kind of disagreements have surfaced now while burstcoin is still relatively small and frankly dirt-cheap.

  • @LondonMP Im just suggest a Ethereum and Ethereum Classic kinda feud. But i highly doubt this would happen because it really just hurts everyone and does not benefit.

  • admin

I have a feud with BurstNation, and all my pool wallets get attacked and shutdown? I'm going to be banning IP's and checking logs - if proof can be found of an attack, a complaint will be filed under the Computer Fraud and Abuse act.

  • @haitch Yeah I just noticed only certain pools forked
