Advance Format HDD good for mining?
-
Hi,
I'd like to buy 1 new internal hard drive and came across a good deal, so it seems, but i'm not sure it's good to mine
This is the drive
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14, 3 TB
(SATA 600, ST3000DM001, Advanced Format)
I don't know if the "advanced format" drives can be used to mine or even in my computer.
I have an intel i5
Can someone advice?

@Zeroroel Advanced format means it supports 4KB sectors, it'll work with your system and you can definitely plot and mine on it.

@haitch thank you again. 0.03€ per GB costing total for this disk is 99€ so pretty good deal here in Belgium
-
@Zeroroel Not a bad deal at all. I aim a little lower, but not bad.

@Zeroroel I have *DM001, *DL003 and *VX000 = works fine, no difference

i went with this one in stead Toshiba DT01ACAxxx, 3 TB
(SATA 600, DT01ACA300, Advanced Format, Retail)
