Am plotting at the moment and will start mining later. Any advice is welcome.

@haitch well, now 25% is plotted, why does it mine unplotted parts while there is 25% (200Gb) free?
-
@2nd4thdegree The plotter has the file open, and will do so until the plotting is complete. While the plotter has the file open, the miner can't mine it. When the plotting is complete, then it can be mined.
-
AOk, thx haitch. I'll start mining somewhere around midday tomorrow then. nd this downloading Blockchain, is it a one time thing or is it everytime I load my wallet cause it seems to be taking ages.
-
@2nd4thdegree It's a one time thing - if it's still downloadiing after the plot completes; stop the client, goto http://db.burst-team.us, unzip the download into C:\Users<user id>\AppData\Roaming\BurstWallet\burst_db -then restart the client. The download is a zip file of the blockchain created within the last 24 hours. It'll get up to date in 15 - 30 minutes. Don't do it now though - don't want to mess with the plotting.

I cant help you with the technicals but check out the BURST4ALL pool and the option to mine under 1TB.
http://m.burst4all.com

When plotting is finished, do I enter "m.burst4all.com" where I choose pools (Xplotter), do I need :8124 at the end? Then "change reward assignment" and the mining will begin?

I apologize for bot having a tutorial I can link you to...
@haitch Could you please help him out.:-)
-
@2nd4thdegree Select the m.burst4all.com pool, do assign reward assignment", follow instructions, then when starting mining, select the m.burst4all.com pool.

Ok, thanks guys, I see you're mining there too haitch.
Somewhere after another 12 hours I should be able to start mining. Nearly a third of the 797Gb is done. Does it pay much this mining? What's the amount of bursts mined on a medium day approximately?
Thx for helping me out!
-
@2nd4thdegree At the moment mobile doesn't pay much - we don't have enough capacity. That said, I mined a block on my phone with 180GB, paid well. We're working on getting more mobile miners, and some mobile mining incentives to get more miners in, which will improve payouts. The first incentive would have already started but for Polo's shutdown of Burst withdrawls.
-
I'm using my laptop, can I mine at m.burst4all, while others are mining there with their phone? The more miners, the more profit, is that right?
Would I make more profit in other pools. I want to help in your pool though.
-
@2nd4thdegree keep the plotsize under 1TB and you can mine at m.burst4all.com - exceed 1TB and you'll need to move to another pool before you get banned. As for which is more profitable, it's hard to say. ind very blocks - but my 180GB phone did - but when they do, they pay pretty well. On the otherhand, other pools will pay more often, albeit only a few burst at a time. The intention is to get more mobile miners on burst4all, and the incentives coming up should help with that.
-
I see, well, I'd very much like to mine at the mobile platform. I'm under 1TB. Been plotting for nearly 17 hours now and and am at 53% now. I guess I'll be starting tomorrow.

When burst client for windows is downloading blockchain, what exactly is it doing? I already asked but was answer already I guess but still I have a hard time figuring it out. It is a one time thing this download, right? Burst client is still showing the small download window in the lower right corner and it's like the bar didn't increase all this time.

yes, concerning this error: 12:29:07 New block 317309, baseTarget 1749678, netDiff 10473 Tb
File "17276370027728467240_300000001_3266432_3266432" error opening
12:29:07 Thread "C:\Burst\plots" @ 0.0 sec (0.0 MB/s) CPU 0.00%The window says I have 1 file of 797Gb, I see it is not plotted yet and so I can't use my space yet. I have to wait until fully plotted.

When I logged into my wallet it gave me a new burst address? I already had one and claimed faucets with it, why did this happen? I never asked for a new one. What if this happens when there are like 40'000 bursts in it?
-
It happened again, prior to it I went back to my original wallet, and switching between online and local wallet I got a third address now and I can't seem to find how to switch between them manually. I only have one passphrase and everytime I enter it it seems to generate a new Burst address.

@2nd4thdegree The blockchain downloading is getting the whole blockchain (~ 300,000 blocks ) from it's peers.
The accounts will be different if you go to two different wallets and one is forked then it will appear as different accounts. We had some issues with a fork overnight, but everyone is in agreement now.
