Blockchain downloading

@Cornel It's one of those nights - third time lucky: http://wallet.burst-team.us

  • It's the same.
It's very frustrating... I know for sure that I didn't confuse my password, something is clearly not working properly with whole this Burst thing.
Well, good at least that I didn't lose bigger investment as I wanted to do later on; good that this happened just when I invested initial $10.
Anyway, I wish you all goodluck with this Burstcoin; but I really have doubts about its success...

@Cornel This is not a Burst problem, there are thousands of users who get into their wallet just fine every day. This is you screwing up your passphrase. The correct passphrase will always hash to the same account - you're using two subtly different passphrases.

  • Well, I have seen in the very beginning when I just heard about Burst on these chats that someone entered his passphrase and got completely into a different wallet; but at that moment I also thought that is a mistake from that particular person.
Now, I just want to forget about this nightmare. I agreed in the beginning even when I saw that Burst is complicated, but now, when they don't even sign in all the time into the correct wallet -- sorry, I have to give up on Burst.

@Cornel If you manage your pass phrase properly, there is no problem. I've received and transferred millions of Burst. The only time there are problems are: 1) You're using the wrong passphrase - it has a space, a newline, some other white space (99.9% of the time) or 2) You're using a bad wallet node (0.1% of the time). The problems you're having are under your control.

If you log into your account with what you think is your passphrase, you'll see it's a different BURST-xxxx... address than where you sent the burst - because they are two different accounts, because they are two different pass phrases.

  • What do you mean a bad wallet node?

  • admin

@Cornel One that is forked, or stuck - no longer reflects the current state of the blockchain

  • admin

@Cornel is your blockchain still downloading?
If your local wallet is not synced it shows a balance of zero.

I've heard from the Brazilian community of that story that someone accessed someone else's account by typing in his own passphrase.

Both accounts from Brazilians and both created in the same week. What a coincidence...

Someone don't understood what he is doing (and made multiple accounts by accident) or spreading fear, anxiety and doubt on purpose.

  • @cornel, @haitch and @dawallet bring up two very salient points.

    1. If you are looking at the wallet and your Burst ID is not the same as the original ID then you, indeed, made a new account with a new (different) passphrase. However, if they are the same IDs but there is no Burst balance,

    2. It is possible you are on the local wallet and the blockchain is not updated to the time when you funded your account.

If this is the case then sign into your account with the "online" wallet to see the wallet balance, hopefully it is there.

    Hope this helps.

  • So, I created 1 online wallet and other local wallet and loaded them for easy access. The blockchain was downloading for 5 days already and since day 2 it stopped at 70% mark and it didn't download any further. So, I came on this forum and people gave me a link to download the DB from http://db.burst-team.us . Extract the zip into <your wallet>\burst_db , then restart the wallet - you'll be up to date in 15 - 30 minutes.
So, I did this, but the local wallet didn't respond anymore. Anyway, I did everything from the online wallet.
Then, I decided to create a vault wallet, without loading it. I remembered the passphrase in my head and I also wrote it down on a paper. Before transferring any money into it, I checked it out and logged in around 4-5 times to see if I put the passphrase correctly.
Then I logged in into another wallet and transferred 17'100 burst. After that I signed one more time into the vault wallet (the 6th time) and it worked. But when I wanted to send from my Vault wallet 1 burst in order to secure my ID the passphrase didn't work anymore whatsoever. I tried even later to change some characters in case of mistake, but no.
So, you can tell anything you want, but I swear that is impossible to forget my passphrase in such circumstances.

  • @Propagandalf When I add the downloaded blockchain, unzziped , to the C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\BurstWallet\burst_db
and after run again the AIO wallet, appear this message:

Your local wallet hasn't started yet. It can take up to 10 minutes to start up. Try it again later.

Please check that you have Java installed!
    Download Java here: https://www.java.com/download/
and then restart the Burst Client.

If your local wallet doesn't start at all you can clean up the database.
Go to "Help" -> "Clean up DB".

Debug: Start run_save_mode.bat in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\BurstWallet to see the command line to find the problem.

  • @oirames Well I fix it, after swap the database, I run the wallet, some times, "online wallet" and "local wallet" waiting around 20 second between changing "online wallet" and "local wallet" and now finally is recognize the 99,6% of all blockchain.

  • @oirames Next problem. After open "Burst wallet AIO" is obligated to go to "faucet" and claim some burst, because is need to do at least one transaction, so the wallet or the ID from the wallet is recognize. But when enter mi ID, tick on "I am not a robot" and click on "claim" says:

This faucet is only for new user of Burst. It is not possible to claim several times.

How can that be? when I don't have click on "claim" several times and mi ID is total new???

    Please Help
