I have a particular hobby: I buy and sell collectible items, such as games, figures, painting pictures, and musical instruments. I really like these things. I do this with my own money quite some time now, and I thought: I can do this much better, for me, and for our community.
The idea: An asset that buy real items, sell them with a profit margin, and of course, distribute the profit to the shareholders. But I want to do something long-term here for Burst. 50% of the profits to shareholders, 45% reinvestment, 5% maintenance fee.
Before I really begin, I want to read opinions, if someone will invest in this, how much think that this shares may cost, and questions. I'm here for it :D
So it is a hobby, but are you profitable? If so, how profitable are you? + how much more profitable could you be by attracting more money (scalability). Before I have this info, i cannot answer questions like: if someone invest in this, how much the shares are worth etc

@CryptoNick Thanks for all the ideas! I'm not in a hurry to release the asset, so I'm getting some time to think the best way to do it, and your opinions are really interesting. The conversion taxes of Fiat-BTC-Burst to pay the dividends I need to think a little bit. Maybe take them from my 5%.
-
@BurgerBaron I have profit, yes. But I'm using the profits to buy more items since I begin this hobby. I never sold an item for less than I bought. I have a file that I write every item that I bought and for how much I sold. I sold an electric guitar with 40 dolars of profit, and a sega genesis game with 10 dolars of profit. Some examples. Depends on what I find and when I sell.
I cant answer how much profit I can make, cause that depend on the items, and the opportunities that I find.

@JotaJota Glad to help, very good... think it through first...
-
I like the idea of your asset a lot! I am sure that if you plan and structure it well enough, you will find support in the Burst community for launching it.
-
Definitely an interesting idea and it would be fun to invest crypto into something not even close to crytpo related. I'd buy some.
-
@Propagandalf and @TimboSlice thanks for the replies! I'm thinking and planning the best way to do it, and maybe release in the next weeks :D
-
I really like the idea of this asset and will be interesting to see how well it does once it is launched. I'll buy some assets for sure as I myself am into buying and we are similar in what we buy and sell ;)

Do you have any stats that you can share with us?
-
@socalguy I don't have graphics, I just write what and how much I pay and sell, and calculate the profit. Its complicated calculate any possibility of profits on this future asset cause depends on what goods I find.
I can give a list of some items that I've done this in the last years, but the only proof that I can show is my profile in a brazilian auction site called "Mercado livre". Its a site like ebay, where I sell the cheaper things, like games, comics, figures. More expensive things like musical instruments, I sell on facebook groups or directly to my students.
My profile in this site, the feedback of my "clients" and my verification with haitch are the best things that I can provide, I imagine.

I really like your idea and I will definitly invest some burst in your asset. In my opinion 50burst/asset would be a good price and you should allow buying your assets with btc to minimize the losses from exchange. Good luck!

I'm really thinking about reviving this idea/asset now. I'm planning on participating in Burst community again. I really love this place and this coin. The idea needs to change a bit. I lost a lot of coins when I got scammed by NEWS(Jervis), so I had to sell my assets to pay some friends. Some guys remember the story. The concept is the same. Take the burst, convert into FIAT, buy some things, sell them, take the majority of the profit, convert into Burst, pay the holders. Part of the profit, reinvest in goods to sell and make more money, like I do now with my own pockets.
I thought a lot about this, and I keep doing my trades and buys n' sells with my money, and it's working. This is not an asset to multiply your money in weeks, this is a very long but real safe asset. If the people that was up to join me that time, are still up to, I can start this now.
I'm planning 40 or 50 Burst per share. What do you think?
-
@JotaJota i think it's a great idea! Its something fresh and i love that. The assetprice might be a bit high though, depending on how many assets you want to issue. 50burst simply is like 80cents atm, and thats quite a high price for one share imho, realising uniburst which has over 60k backing was 25cents an asset at release.
I do hope its a suatainable asset seeing the price pums recently, and i hope ur profits can match that.
Count me intriguedCheers
-
@JotaJota Happy to see you back, and I still think your asset sounds great :)
-
Thanks Gandalf and keysdos for the replies. I don't want to release a lot of shares in the beginning. I prefer releasing a few shares in 50 Burst instead of a lot for 5. The idea is something around 5k shares fro start, what gives a bit more than a BTC. If the shares are sold out, or the asset grows substantially and healthy, I release more shares. What do you guys think about?
-
@JotaJota I like your idea but it might not be the best time to start new asset^^ I think that there isn't too much money on ae atm^^ Still I would definitly buy some shares as I love fresh ways of income (not gpu, hdd mining) and hopefully you will get into hsasset^^
-
@JotaJota You need to start putting this into a excel sheet or something and just import the numbers to a graphic. I love the hole idea and I know there is profit to be made with this type of merchandise, but I must agree with @Propagandalf , you need to put some math behind what you are advertising. I would love to invest in this type of asset. Once you have you math and charts out, PLEASE tag me, I would love to get in on this. I love investing in assets, but I need the math.
Thank you :)
-
@JotaJota You're welcome. That sounds like a good plan. The key is to find a sweet spot between having enough "spare" shares to be able to make your asset grow, and not having too many, because then there is a theoretical possibility of you going Jervis on us by dumping your shares and taking off. I know you wouldn't do that, but that's one of the reasons why the number of available shares matters.
-
I'll elaborate the Maths and show them in the next days. I don't want much more than a BTC to start. As I told before, this is something that I do with my own pockets quite some time now. So my plan is do something for the hole community.
The concept is trade the Burst for fiat to buy collectible things, instruments and other things that I know the market. Then sell with a profit to split with the holders. The basic math that I'm thinking is: When I sell something I keep what I spent in the first time to buy other things, and the 70% of the profit goes to the investors, 25% reinvest and 5% as the fee.
I can't promise a fixed ROI, cause the idea is create a healthy, sustainable and long asset. The profits will determine the payments. I'm a verified member, I don't need to steal coins from anyone, so if you feel insecure, I ask you not to invest. After all things that happened here in the AE, I can understand. I'm here for almost a year, some guys know my true name and other personal data.
If the items take a long time to sell, I will pay a monthly quota for my mining and personal trades. I prefer paying monthly. Less coins lost to payment taxes.
The important point is: The profit is made in FIAT, so if BURST price raises, the return in Burstcoin will be less. If the prices drops, will be more. Ah, you understand that right? If you want to increase your portfolio for the long term, I say that this is a good asset.
Any other questions, please, feel free.

I'm glad you brought up and clarified that point, as I'm sure many people don't quite understand ROI and assets. I wish you good luck with your project, and I will get some shares once you launch it. :)
