Max size of nonce
-
Is there a max size for the nonce? I have never gone over 9 digits, can I do 10 digits e.g. 1000000000?
More generally, who developed the POC concept. Isn't there a tech document that defines thing like nonce size, what a scoop is etc?

@rds I've done 10 digits - I believe it's either 2 ^ 32 -1 or 2 ^ 64 -1

@Blago I believe he's talking about actual nonce number: starting nonce + number of nonces.
-
@haitch, haha, well 10 digit number is certainly within the envelope of 2^32-1.
Thanks, I have a new drive I labeled #10 and I want to start the files at 1,000,000,000. Thanks

Nonce size is 262,144 bytes - no more, no less.
;D

@sevencardz rds, yes a nonce is always 262,1444 bytes - however what rds was asking is what is the maximum nonce number you can use? ie - what is largest valid starting nonce + number of nonces ?

To answer your questions about the request for a technical specification please see: http://www.burst-team.us/index.php/about/ scroll about 1/2 way down, there is a real nice flow chart for plotting and mining that defines all sizes and arithmetic operations used when calculating Burst.

@rds The wallet can handle a nonce address/index range from:
0 to 18446744073709551613
(unsigned Long.MAX_VALUE -> 2^64-1)Check this for scoop size etc. PLOT_SIZE is the size behind one nonce address/index.
