multi drove gpu plotting?

or even a batch (.bat) file like this(windows):
mkdir F:\temp mkdir L:\temp start /wait gpuPlotGenerator.exe generate buffer F:\temp\10718900860795585473_914447040_3268608_24576 L:\temp\10718900860795585473_937327296_3268608_24576 start /wait gpuPlotGenerator.exe generate buffer F:\temp\10718900860795585473_917715648_3268608_24576 L:\temp\10718900860795585473_940595904_3268608_24576 start /wait gpuPlotGenerator.exe generate buffer F:\temp\10718900860795585473_920984256_3268608_24576 L:\temp\10718900860795585473_943864512_3268608_24576 start /wait gpuPlotGenerator.exe generate buffer F:\temp\10718900860795585473_924252864_3268608_24576 L:\temp\10718900860795585473_947133120_3268608_24576 start /wait gpuPlotGenerator.exe generate buffer F:\temp\10718900860795585473_927521472_3268608_24576 L:\temp\10718900860795585473_950401728_3268608_24576 start /wait gpuPlotGenerator.exe generate buffer F:\temp\10718900860795585473_930790080_3268608_24576 L:\temp\10718900860795585473_953670336_3268608_24576 start /wait gpuPlotGenerator.exe generate buffer F:\temp\10718900860795585473_934058688_3268608_24576 L:\temp\10718900860795585473_956938944_3268608_24576

@nixxda @haitch Ah that makes more sense! Thank you so much.
2 last questions, I heard in DirectMode it pre-optimizes your plots.
What would my command look like?
Would I write it
generate direct F:\temp\10718900860795585473_914447040_3268608_3268608And If im plotting 1TB would I have to make sure 2TB of space is available?
Im also try to avoid the whole Plot half, optimize, plot another half, optimize pattern

yes!
best practice is to plot one drive and optimize over to another drive. (disc read and write speed!)
on the other hand, using direct mode to get optimized files straight away is also possible (and does not need double the space) but it might be a bit confusing at first.
and if its any faster is still to be discussed!-)
-
@Havoc No, the last number is the stagger size, and that tells the plotter how much memory it can use. The stagger size is expressed as multiples of 256KB - so to get a safe value, take 1/4 of your RAM size in GB, multiply be 4096 and use that. eg - if you have 16GB, use 16 / 4 = 4 * 4096 = 16384.
The plotter will take of the optimization, and your plot will end up fully optimized.
-
@nixxda If using the GPU plotter in direct mode you don't need double the space - it plots the file fully optimized.

so i got myself a RX 480 8GB.
What should I set my device.txt? Right now its
1 0 8192 64 8192 but I want to make the most of the card as I will be parallel plotting 8Tb drives in direct mode.Fyi if this is also importannt.
i7 4.5Ghz
32 GB ramAny tips?
-
@Havoc those values will be fine. You might get a slight increase be increasing the third value - 8192 - but it's going to be minimal.
-
@haitch Thanks Haitch!
Is this normal?
1 week really? I tried 2, 2TB drives at the same time on direct mode.
What do you think the bottleneck is?

EDIT: Actually never mind - it seems to be equalize to a more reasonable ETA now.

Can anyone explain why it stalls in the beginning?
-
@Havoc In direct mode it creates the whole file, then starts writing nonces. That first phase can take hours, so it makes it appear that nothing is happening, and gives you extremely low initial plotting rates - obut they increase the whole time of the second phase.
