Plotting with very low ram (128 MB)
-
Hi,
I am trying to plot with a PC that has very low ram. Only 128 MB. So I can't make the stagger more than ~400
Is seems like my miner can only read these files very very slow. Is this because of the very low stagger? DO you see a possibility to create proper working plot files with such small amount of ram?
-
i plot with a stag of 512 ... time speeds way up after you optimize them
-
@Gibsalot But do I need another pc with more ram to do optimization, or can I do the optimization with the low ram PC?
-
that im not sure on i have low ram but still quite a bit more than 128mb ........... i had win 98 comp's with more ram lol
-
@Gibsalot I know ;)
But If you have like lets say 500 of tose low ram pc's you could do something with it ;)
-
@schnebi You can optimize the plots afterwards. Soonish there will be a cpu plotter released that will help you.
-
@daWallet thanks for your answer. But again the question: Can I make the optimazation on the same PC with 128MB RAM or would that make no difference to the unoptimized file?
-
@schnebi You can optimize on a PC with low RAM as far as I know. I've never optimized to be honest. ;)
-
@schnebi Sorry, what pc are you using for mine these 400 stagger plots? Scanning time? It's very possible that the low stagger is the problem...
-
@Dario's-wallet The PC I am using to mine these 400 stagger plots is a fast i5 PC with enogh ram....
Mining plots that are made with a different pc with more ram is no problem... only these with the low stagger
-
@schnebi Ok, the problem is absolutely the stagger. Optimizing time!-) You can run the optimizer on 128MB ram pc: a good idea is setting -m value very low (20m?), but the problem could be chaching... I think the way is set an high number of secs to free ram, and also running this chache cleaner during optimization could help: https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/37/runaurufu-s-memory-cleaner-win
