Burst Gone
-
@haitch
I know for sure that that is not the problem.
-
@srhanna well, 100% of the time when people have come here and said "my burst is all gone ..." that has been the problem.
-
@haitch
Then this is a new problem.
-
@srhanna I can assure you it's not. The account reference you gave is not found - meaning it's never had an incoming or outgoing transaction. The passphrase you're using now is different from the one you originally used.
-
Well since I copied it to a text file and only copy and paste, the only conclusion is that it got changed somewhere and in any case the wallet is lost now. So much for crypto currency mining.
-
@srhanna try adding a space or removing it at the end
-
@srhanna Don't give up, you just started.
-
@srhanna copy and paste can still go wrong - if your notepad window is small and the passphrase is line wrapped, that phrase is different from one that is not. You need to be very precise in copying and pasting your passphrase.
Setup a new wallet, or triple verify your existing pass phrase - goto https://wallet.burst-team.us:8125 AND https://wallet-burst-team.us:8126 AND https://wallet.burst-team.us:8127 - separately copy/paste your phrase each time, verify it displays the same account address in each case
Once you've done that, post the address here and I'll send you the Burst you lost in your original account.
-
@haitch I gave up on this for a while because it was just too vexing for me. So now I have come back and I tried what you suggested. My passphrase gave me the same id each time (BURST-UHLA-RGJG-SMWX-BUWBZ). I keep getting the same 0 balance but the "mining wallet" says 559 BURST. I have no idea what to make of that.
-
@srhanna If I look on the BlockEx, account BURST-UHLA-RGJG-SMWX-BUWBZ is unrecognized - meaning, it's NEVER had a transaction.
What is the numeric account you created your plots with ?
-
I don't even know what that means.
-
@srhanna What are the filenames of the files in your plot ?

@srhanna http://burstcoin.biz/address/3421999758306847381
Your coins are there.

a) The account number on your mining files corresponds to the account BURST-NCNP-NT9P-YY4P-44DZY - if you're not showing that ID when you login, you're using a different pass phrase.
b) You plots are a mess and really overlapped. Sort out your pass phrases then ask for plotting help.
-
@haitch I really can't understand anything you said. The passphrase is the one I copied and pasted to notepad. I have no idea what you mean by my "plots are a mess." What does that even mean? Do I need to rewrite the plots to the hard drive? Somehow, it seems, the passphrase, that I copied and pasted in notepad, suddenly became invalid. It worked many times,. Then suddenly it created a new account. This doesn't seem very trustworthy.
-
-
When you log in to the wallet does it show your address as BURST-NCNP-NT9P-YY4P-44DZY ? If it doesn't you're using the wrong passphrase.
-
"your plots are a mess" - there are a bunch of overlaps - work with someone here to plot correct files.

Sounds like you're logging into a random wallet with the passphrase you're using. It happens to me sometimes with the mobile wallet. Make sure you type out the passphrase carefully. It should be simply a string of words separated by single spaces. Like,
dog fault run chair above elbow title and on and on
We can all see the address with your name on it (http://burstcoin.biz/address/3421999758306847381) and your coins are there.
I know this wouldn't be good protocol but if it really comes down to it, maybe you could give the passphrase you're using to one of the more trusted members here (@haitch) to see if they can get into it. If they can, maybe you can make a new address, with a new passphrase that works, and then they can send you your old balance. Just a thought... hate to see someone so discouraged with this wonderful thing we have going on here.

Let's help some of these new Miner's out by offering sample plot sizes to fill a drive.
1tb = 880 GB plot file. Free space reserved for logfiles or blago miner of an ext drive.

@k.coins
So it seems that somehow my text file got changed and i have no way to recover the pass phrase and by extension, my account or its contents. I can see why very few people are involved in this currency. I don't think I'll be pursuing this any further. Thanks for your help though.
