Ploting with two NVIDIA Quadros M6000 using Direct mode.
-
@Wolf No probs for the stagger, 105472 is ok, in direct mode the output file will be 3225037558013223906_0_38075392_38075392
About the devices configurations...mmm...maybe try lowering the local work size number increasing the hashes per call (6200 is just an example, maybe also try with 8192):
0 0 65536 32768 6200
0 0 65536 16384 6200
0 0 65536 8192 6200
And so on...
-
@Dario's-wallet said in I'm having trouble with GPU Plotting using Direct mode.:
0 0 65536 8192 6200
I just set it to...
0 0 65536 2048 8192
0 0 65536 2048 8192I get this error
[ERROR][-54][CL_INVALID_WORK_GROUP_SIZE] Error in step1 kernel launch
-
@Wolf 1024, 512, 256,...?
-
@Dario's-wallet If i set the last number to 8192 it throws me an error
Even if i set the configuration to thisexample..
0 0 1024 128 8192
0 1 1024 128 8192This is the error for this configuration.
[ERROR][-5][CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES] Error in synchronous readThe highest that I can configure the last number with no problems is 7168. But I have to leave the third number to 1024
example..
0 0 1024 128 7168
0 1 1024 128 7168But if I leave the last number to 7168 and go up on the third number to 2048 it throws me a another error.
example..
0 0 2048 128 7168
0 1 2048 128 7168This is the error for this configuration.
[ERROR][-36][CL_INVALID_COMMAND_QUEUE] Error in step2 kernel finish
-
@Dario's-wallet
btw.. The highest I can configure the third number with no problems is 4096. But I have to leave the last number to 1024
example..
0 0 4096 128 1024
0 1 4096 128 1024But with this configuration I lose 20000 nonces/minutes,.
-
@Wolf Uhm... Interesting... Seems you cannot use your entire GPU memory... Seems there's an inviolable line for this card memory in burstcoin plotting. However to figure out what's your fast configuration don't trust direct mode nonce/minute values, they're funky. Use buffer mode for that.

Do you have a rx480? If so what's the nonces/minutes? Also do you think its faster to plot first and optimize after?
-
@Wolf Don't know about a 480, but a 470 can do about 24,000 in buffered mode.
I've done all my plots in direct mode.
-
Rx 480 can do 31k nonces per minute in direct. :) I think that's the bottleneck of our HDD's USB 3.0
-
well if that card can do 31k nonces a min that means it can write about 7.7gb a min or about 130MB a sec which dont seem right
math supporting my claim:
nonce = 256KB each
256kbX31,000= 7,936,000
7,936,000KB / 1024KB = 7,750KB = 7.75GB
7.75GB / 60sec = 129.1666666666667MB a sec

@jervis What is your Device config for your Rx 480? I also Got a Rx 480! Is your Rx 480 a 4GB or 8GB?
Thanks,
CesBurst1782

@CesBurst1782 I don't really know what the device config text is. It's in a location I can't reach on foot and my friend is not telling me what he has done with the config. He just says he did something with it.
anyways, this is what he did just moments ago, 33k nonces/minute.
-
@jervis Its in gpuPlotGenerator folder, a file named devices.txt. Open it and share the line(s) in it.
Is it just me or the 2 pictures for two different plots?
-
@rnahlawi As i said, the plotting computer can't be reached on foot. :) it's in a different location. our Miners are located in different locations so that down times are very minimal. :) the picture above was already done. This latest picture is what's plotting right now.
-
@jervis Foot? Miners? what about remote access? obviously you're not aware of what's going on with your Hardware ..
Never mind dude xD
-
@rnahlawi man, please. All i want to say is I have no control over the plotting of our hard drives. It's off site. I can't plot it in my place. The person plotting is not giving me access to his PC. if i can access it, I would have already told you without all the drama. It's too freaking simple to get the device config if i can have access. even a chimp can do it (i think). Foot? I can't get there on foot. We talk on chat all the time. That's why i know what is going on in the plotting. He's sending me screenshots. Do i have to explain everything? It's too simple to understand. Anyways, relax man, drink your morning coffee first. :)
-
@jervis Its just when you share something like that, you should expect such questions and you should be ready with answers. A good one will be close to "I'll check the devices config with my friend and get back to you" rather than appearing that you're not willing to share info.
Anyways, no hard feelings at all .. i'm mining with your pool and i like your asset and as long as i'm generating burst i dont really care how you do it .. You're the one who should relax, it's already time for my evening beer in here, cheers :)
-
@rnahlawi i just answered the question of @wolf Do you have a rx480? If so what's the nonces/minutes? Also do you think its faster to plot first and optimize after.
I said: Rx 480 can do 31k nonces per minute in direct. :) I think that's the bottleneck of our HDD's USB 3.0
and then, @Njcfamily31907 said that it's unlikely so i posted a screenshot.
Then @CesBurst1782 asked me how did i do it. My answer was very straightforward that i Dont know. What's wrong with what i said?
THis is what i said: "jervis about 2 hours ago @CesBurst1782
@CesBurst1782 I don't really know what the device config text is. It's in a location I can't reach on foot and my friend is not telling me what he has done with the config. He just says he did something with it.Now, please tell me, was there an answer there which means that I don't wanna share? I simply said i dont know and my friend (who is doing the plotting) is not telling me. Of course, I asked him and he just said "SECRET".
I'm frosty man. :) and we're fam here. Just a simple misunderstanding, that's all. :)

@Njcfamily31907 31K nonces is easily doable by a 480. This is from one of my 470's - writing to an SSD:
100% (753664 nonces), 29730.34 nonces/minutes, 25m 21s
