Android Mining Support

btw. sorry guys for making the pool all red!-/
I had to add some free cloud storage I recently got to my 12Gb on the Phone. I really want to forge a Block an this pool!-)
-
Hi @nixxda, what kinda capacity you're using? 0.5TB entering mpool?
Is this pool intended only for mobile mining or can be mined by any devices?
-
@bitko Well, it is intended for the Android Miner! And it is currently the only one you can use/choose on your Phone!
But you can point any other (pc/nix) miner to mine at that pool. So i did that!-)
2x Onecloud 200Gb (received that from buying Seagate Hub+ Drives)(this one is pretty fast!)
1x hubiC 25GB (ugly slow and complicated!)
1x googleDrive 15GB (even worse)
-
biggie stomping through!-) pretending to be a Block Magnet!
-
@nixxda maybe he just stopped by :)
but it's good, you also got nice amount
-
@nixxda how do you connect to cloud drive? is miner running from your PC?
-
@bitko I "mount" the Cloud Storage with Netdrive2

@nixxda OK, thanks for the info, will try to use it.

I noticed that the title says "Andoid" instead of "Android". Maybe you could change it? (edit: you corrected it, thanks!)

After registering a new account for Android mining, I was not able to paste my password that I had copied in the previous screen. The paste icon would be visible for a split second, and then disappear. I had to enter it manually, and then it worked. However, pasting works when using the 'load passphrase' and entering my account afterwards. So, it seems to be related to that first screen where you are prompted to paste your password.
Is it possible to change my account name twice? I can't seem to find the option.
Could it be an idea to have a small notification telling new miners to press the 'set pool' button before starting to mine? It might not be obvious that they need to do so, since pressing the 'start mining' will work regardless.
I still cannot see my account on the pool page after registering, but it is probably because I haven't had a good enough deadline yet, I'm currently only mining with 1 GB :)
EDIT
I just heard a fantastic "ka-ching-ching-ching" sound from my mobile, and I see my DL was accepted. On the pool website, I now see my account ID and a small reward estimation. Score!
-
So if I'm mining a different pool on my desktop computer, and I use the same wallet for my android, when I start mobile mining, which pool am I directed to? The one set for my account or the mobile pool?
These leads me to a bigger question about mining from multiple computers using the same wallet but perhaps I'll wait to post that elsewhere...
-
@k.coins you cam mine the same account on multiple devices - but they all have to point to the same pool.
If you're going to be android mining, I'd suggest using a separate account for it.
-
@haitch Alright, so now another question... If I have multiple Android devices, would more coin be mined by setting up different accounts for each or using the same account between them?
-
@k.coins assuming the plots don't overlap - theoretically they'd earn the same.
-
@haitch Best way not to overlap the plots? This seems like it could be difficult to orchestrate between devices
-
@k.coins I manually did the plots then copied them to the phone. Make sure starting Nonce on device 2 > device 1 Starting Nonce + Number of Nonces.
-
Shouldn't this support thread be stickied somewhere?
I blocked all notifications from the Burst wallet, because I did not want to hear the "ka-ching" sound anymore, but it still is not silent when I submit a DL. Is there another way I can turn it off? I am using the latest android update on an Xperia Z3 compact.

@k.coins said in Android Mining Support:
rlap the plots? T
For the current plotting software using the built in plotter always starts at 1, maybe in a future version I will allow users to select a starting nonce. There for creating non-overlapped plots between multiple devices I would rate as an "advanced user" task. You have to manually plot and move to your card or run through some type of interface like the Android Dev tools.
