Jminer-0.4.5 problem
-
I have been using Jminer 0.4.5 miner for my 5 drive for quite sometime.
Most of the time it has no problem at all but occasionally 1 drive will randomly get stuck so only 4 drive works (mined 80% for that round), but without doing anything it will be back to normal the next round.
Is that normal?
Thanks in advance :)

@FattySnorlax No that is not normal, only thing i could think off, is that your drive is shut down, due a previous long block ... jminer has no mechanism to wait for drive to start up again. (Or keep drives spinning) But on next block the drive is active again, cause it got a wake up command.
So it is in your hands to prevent drive from shut down ... i found this solution https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/59/windows-keep-usb-drives-spinning-prevent-spindown-usb-drivesIn general it is not good for a drive lifespan to suspend/shut down too often, so it is in your interest to keep it spinning.
May also be another hardware issue ... i can just guess.

@luxe I run a small batch file that opens a null file and then erases it on each drive in turn every 10 Minutes.

thanks for the solution, going to try it now.

I finally figure out what is my problem, its my 5 HDD USB3.0 hub. For some reason if it load all 5 together then it would give almost all IO error. But if I reduce the reader thread to 1 then no error at all. Anybody encounter this?
Also can I open 2 Jminer 0.4.5 program? 1 running my HDD hub and another 1 running the rest of the HDD
Thanks in advance :)

@FattySnorlax yes you can - one of my miners is running 3

@haitch nice thanks!!. But somehow in the pool it doesn't show the total of my HDD space is that normal?

@FattySnorlax Unless you're using Blago, the capacity is a guess-timate. Even with Blago's miner, if you're using more than one PC, it'll only show the capacity of one of the PC's.
