Hard time getting these in China...!
-
Got a real hard time getting these in China.....any bros out there know if the 8g or the 4g graphics card are better....and what coins are you brothers mining now.....:)
-
@evilfire Evil your in China???
-
@Njcfamily31907 yes I live in China.... but I'm Singaporean....:)
-
@evilfire My Brother is in China right now ( currently in Shandong area )

@evilfire I'm curious. How much do HDDs costs in China on average?
-
@Njcfamily31907 oh.... that's a nice place also.... I'm mostly in Guangdong right now....
-
@daWallet the price here is ridiculous bro.... believe me....! Made in China stuff but much more expensive here....haha!
-
@evilfire Ohh Cool your near Shenzen China then
My Buddies Company HQ is there
( Hint Biggest MFG of BTC mining Hardware )
-
@Njcfamily31907 ya bro very near only 45mins ferry trip....
-
@daWallet wanted to increase my hdd for burst mining....but can't get any cheap ones here....even the 5tb external hard drives are not seen here....u even need to order 4tb external....how I envy those with 50-100tb to mine with....I'm only mining with pathetic 3.5tb....haha
-
@evilfire With the cheap price for electricity it should be profitable to mine with used smaller drives, isn't it?
-
@daWallet difficult to buy used stuff here bro....they have too many cheating tactics here....haha
-
They say that if you find a 4gb card to look for something on it that would indicate to you that it is a 8gb card with 4gb locked.
-
@Burstde ya lucky those who got the 8gb versions.....but I'm running on rx470s ....I seen on the net that says the rx470s are running better then the rx480s...electricity cost to hashpower.... I never tried the rx480 though...they cost a bomb here haha
-
@Burstde this is plain crazy that you can just flash your card and make it an 8gb card if it does have the extra memory
-
@Njcfamily31907 According to article They need to sell the card at a lower price point. It makes sense if the 8gb card had a high profit margin and that selling it at it lower profit margin would attract enough buyers while the manufacturing of a 4gb card caught up. This means the 8gb card was produced first with a firmware that said you were 8gb or 4gb card.
-
I think it's the other way around. The 4 GB was first released for rx 480 than the 8 GB. It was just a flashed 8gb and could be unlocked with proper tinkering. I wanted to buy the 4GB but the stock was sold out lightning fast. That's why i settled with the 8gb. It has no difference with the mining power though. :)
-
@jervis how much hashing power do u get from your 8gb 480.... I just got my 480 4gb today.... but is so much slower then the 470s....regret buying it today...haha
-
@jervis and do you know anything about overclocking these cards....? I think I need to overclock the 480... but I am a dummy with these things.....haha
-
@evilfire i downclock and undervolt it. It has the same computing factor and use less energy and cooler. :)
-
@jervis oh really ... I need to try then....what coins are you mining now....eth or zcash...?
