@luxe said in burstcoin-jminer v0.4.5 - GPU assisted PoC-Miner (All Platforms):
@alexcrys In general it is, but there is still a issue with Win7 caching using too much memory. But should be no problem on a few TB.
i want to put 5 hdd 3tb each(15tb) will be fine ? thx
-
@alexcrys mmm, could be difficult.... Your system specs? However win10 caching works well instead of the win7 ones...
-
@alexcrys just try, if it does not work for you, just use Blagos miner ... you should have no big cpu bottleneck with 15tb anyway.

i have amd A4-4000 will be ok ? i don't want to change os is working very well on eth+sia
-
@alexcrys It will be ok, a slow cpu could only cause you to need some seconds more to finish a round. But in most cases it does not matter if you need 30sec. or 40sec.

thx.. even with more hdd ? somthing like 13 hdd (39 tb).. and how the memory ram 4-5gb is ok? thx
-
@alexcrys Guess so, but i will not promise ... Just start with your setup and add more and more capacity over time, monitor your memory/cpu usage and you will find out how much capacity you can mine on your machine ... just get started :-)

I have a suggestion for an improvement :
2016-09-22 09:28:41.617 INFO 18696 --- [ networkPool-1] burstcoin.jminer.JMinerCommandLine : dl '361967' confirmed! [ 4d 4h 32m 47s ]
2016-09-22 09:28:42.789 ERROR 18696 --- [ readerPool-3] b.j.c.reader.task.ReaderLoadDriveTask : IOException: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error
2it would be super helpful if the IOException line on the console also stated what file it was, that was having problems, inclusive the drive letter and path.
Usecase is that i get this line on console, have 8 disks attached to this computer and cannot see immediatly which of the 8 disks are the source of the errors. Or maybe it's a config error i made, pointing jminer to one of the 5 non-burst disks, or even a non-existant drive letter. If i knew the filename or directory (if it is a directory search that went wrong) then it would be much easier to locate the source of the error.

@pinball_dude thanks for suggestion, should be no problem to add that ... will be included in next version.

Hi,
in the new version 0.4.5 there are some additional information about the plotfiles available. What did the "block"-info mean and why do i have some plots with "N/A" blocks? Is this something i have to worry about? Here is an example:
'/media/plot0/plots/<ID>_34000000_6000000_40000', blocks '6', chunks '150'.'/media/plot0/plots/<ID>_9720000_280000_40000', blocks 'N/A', chunks '7'.Thanks. :)
Edit: I think i found the answer some posts above. It's the number of blocks i won with this plotfile?!
-
Yes, blocks is the number of blocks the plotfile won, chunks is how many drive seeks are needed ...
Blocks 'N/A' means ... no block won by plotfile :-(

Hi I'm having problem with jminer not working on lenovo e46 it has i76500u 16gb ddr3l AMD r7 m360 on win 10 pro all current updates latest java and AMD drivers.
I also mine on old laptop with nvidia gt555m with no problems. On the AMD I tried changing device id from 1 to 10 but nothing seems to work every time I try to manually or run jminer from wallet it opens and closes instantly.
Blago miner works but would like to use jminer as its faster as I have 80tb to add to the network.
Anyone with similar setup or have the amd r7 m360 on win 10 pro and encountered same problem?

Anyone with similar setup or have the amd r7 m360 on win 10 pro and encountered same problem? You changed from 1 to 10? That doesn't sound right. Have you tried manually running jminer from your appdata folder? You could edit the batch file there and put "pause" on the last line. That should make you window stay open at least, so you may be able to see what is preventing the program from running. Jminer launch window should tell you which platform and device ID your hardware is on.
-
@Propagandalf I tried different device id because default setting would not work now I have reset to default now but still it just shuts down instantly.
On the batch do I input pause (java -jar -d64 -XX:+UseG1GC burstcoin-jminer-0.4.5-RELEASE.jar pause) ?
Am I missing a setting for this AMD gpu?
-
@burstcoinage You need to set the correct platform ID and device ID in the jminer.properties file. But, the batch file does not need to be changed except putting the "pause" command in there like you did. Platform ID and device ID is usually one of these combinations:
0-0
0-1
1-0
1-1

@luxe said in burstcoin-jminer v0.4.5 - GPU assisted PoC-Miner (All Platforms):
you can remove -d64 from start bat, to enable 32bit.
but if your system supports 64bit, install java64bit
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html@burstcoinage Also, download the java version that Luxe has circled here. This could be what is preventing you from launching the jminer. I think it will say "Windows x64 (offline)" for the correct 64 bit version, assuming you are running a 64 bit windows.
-
@burstcoinage Maybe add 'pause' to a new line, it is not part of the java call.
Post the error if there is still one.java -jar -d64 -XX:+UseG1GC burstcoin-jminer-0.4.5-RELEASE.jar pause
-
I get the following error, not sure what its means?
I installed both the latest java64 from the link above.
"D:\Burst\F burstcoin-jminer-0.4.5-RELEASE>java -jar -d64 -XX:+UseG1GC burstcoin-jminer-0.4.5-RELEASE.jar
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file."
-
That is exactly the error I fixed by downloading the correct version of java (not necessarily the newest update of java). I think the version I used is different to the one @luxe presented. Here is my link: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html and here is a picture showing which version to choose:
I chose the offline version.
-
@burstcoinage the location of java is not known in command line, try @Propagandalf 's solution, if that does not work, try to add it to the win path variable manually http://www.kingluddite.com/tools/how-do-i-add-java-to-my-windows-path
Another solution would be, to add the path to java.exe like e.g.
"C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_92\bin\java.exe" -jar -d64 -XX:+UseG1GC burstcoin-jminer-0.4.5-RELEASE.jar
