burstcoin-jminer v0.4.10 - GPU assisted PoC-Miner (All Platforms)
-
@umutusu
log file unavable.
new pc with the same GPU or new?
-
@rnahlawi current jminer version uses latest jocl.org lib for openCL, thats all i can do/say ... glad you got it running ... jminer will be updated as soon as new version of jocl.org is available.
@umutusu sry currenly have no concrete idea ... please try to google for
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005)i found some explanations but nothing concrete.

burstcoin-jminer-0.4.7-SNAPSHOT
Download:
https://github.com/de-luxe/burstcoin-jminer/releases
Updates:
- prevent reading optimized plotfiles in too much parts, if no useful number can be calculated due chunkPartNonces setting.
Details:
A optimized plotfile is handled in multiple parts by jminer, the calculation of the number of parts could lead to very high number due not perfect algo (i have to think about). Very high number of parts causes a drive/miner to be slow as hell.
As quick fix i added a fallback that takes 8 parts if number of parts is bigger than 100.Edit: I run into the above issue after plotting with Xplotter auto all remaining space of a drive ... what leads to staggersize i never had before, so if someone had a slowed down jminer after plotting in the same way, check new version.
Just to be clear, there is no issue with Xplotter, it is just awesome.

@Blago: https://www.sendspace.com/file/p39ll8 here it is
everything new (msi gtx 1080)@luxe: I tried with stable version 0.4.5 and snapshot 0.4.6. i'll try with snapshot 0.4.7 and also take a look at for that
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005)@rnahlawi : i'l try that.
-
@Blago
did you see the log file?
@luxe
with 0.4.7 it's the same error.
And I can't seem to find any comprehensible explanation (at last I don't understand) forEXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005)I even install visual studio and Cuda SDK (apart from Nvidia driver which normally contains OpenCL driver)
@rnahlawi which version of Nvidia driver is you currently use? I searched for[nvopencl.dll+0x3870cd]but I don't understand that either.
-
@umutusu Sorry the log tells me nothing, i can only suggest this ... check if gpuPlotGenerator works for you:
https://github.com/bhamon/gpuPlotGenerator/releases
https://github.com/bhamon/gpuPlotGenerator#setup-1
That would indicate that openCl drivers are fine. And it is only a jminer issue
(i do noit think so)
If gpuPlotGenerator also does not run, you should try to deinstall all gpu drivers and stuff completely (not sure with nvidea, for amd there is a tool to cleanup). restart your system and reinstall lastest nvidea driver only (should include openCL).
-
@luxe I created my plots yesterday with XPlotter to have optimized plots.I really don't want to wait again 36hours :)
I downgraded nvidia drivers to previous version and I have no more this issue but now I have CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES.
I think the latest nvidia drivers have a problem or it's a opencl 1.2 issue with gtx 1080.
Do you know how to resolve this CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES issue?
Thank you again
-
@umutusu Ok, you got me wrong ... i didn't want you to re-plot ... just to check if it works, as it is also openCL based. But if openCl context starts up now, please provide a image of jminer log ... are you sure you configured the platformId/deviceId correctly? is your gpu marked(*) on jminer startup?

@luxe How embarrassing :/
It was actually my bad.
GPUplot generator worked once I made the setup and realized that I used old device and platform id without thinking that is a new PC.
Thanks and sorry for bothering you
-
@umutusu No problem, glad we could solve that :-)
-
a side note: latest Nvidia drivers doesn't work!
I just updated again to latest drivers and the same issue (fatal error etc)
I rolled back to the earlier driver and voilĂ , it works again!
so it's a Nvidia driver issue
-
@umutusu i also had problems with latest amd drivers few weeks ago, since than i do not update anymore :-) also may be caused by the jocl.org lib. if the jocl.org lib does not work with latest drivers, they will sure provide a update ... just a question of time ...
-
@umutusu I have problems with the newest driver to, the newest driver does not work for Nvidia Tesla M2050 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 SuperClocked, even know it was supposed to. I'm running Ubuntu Linux 64Bit, I recommend when you get it working never to update, LoL! Nvidia Drivers are a pain in the but! I had to ssh in to my PC because I had no user interface to switch back to the old drivers. I like Nvidia GPUs but there drivers leave a lot to be desired!

I have 2 comments:
1- run.bat still calls old burstcoin-jminer-0.4.6-SNAPSHOT.jar file, needs to call 0.4.7
2- didn't work with Latest Nvidia drivers, I had to downgrade again :)
-
@rnahlawi did a previous jminer version work with latest nvidea drivers? thanks for the hint with the start.bat
-
@luxe No, after Nvidia's last update it didnt work
I had 0.4.5 btw
-
@rnahlawi Ok, thanks that was important info for me.
-
@luxe
I have problem with jminer v0.4.7-SNAPSHOT
OS Windows 10 Pro
RAM 32GB
VRAM 424GB
Running 527238GB on AMD RX 480 8GB and i have usage 300-400GB VRAM sometime more than i set 424GB and jminer crash :( sometime random freeze :(
any solution for this??
Also you have ~3000MB/s on amd 280x but i have only ~1000MB/s on
amd RX 480 why??

-
@adams First info important for me, have you used 0.4.5 before without issues? (uses previous openCl lib)
For the RX 480, are you sure it is attached via PCIe 3.0 16 lanes? You can check with GPU-Z or something like that. I also run RX 480 with quite good results ... never using more than 8GB of system RAM ... https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/3479/sas-9305-24i-host-bus-adapter/14 (Using Radeon driver version 16.11.5 as i had some issues with newer ones)
About the VRAM, puhh sonds like a caching issue like known from Win7, any way to switch that off? As it is not needed anyway i guess. Can you give some info what exactly that VRAM hardware is?!
400GB+ ?! Is that kind of extension card or something?
-
@luxe
I use 0.4.5-release but same issue :(
RX 480 is attached via PCIe 3.0 x8 lanes if connect to x16 i should get 100% faster?? Use radeon driver 16.11.4
I have samsung ssd 950 pro m.2 512gb soo set 424GB VRAM xD
