  • @haitch I would pay around 1-1,5€ to ship a letter to somewhere inside Portugal xD

Yeah that costs are right... if i ship a small box to US it will never cost me under 50-60€, and even inside UE the shipping costs are pretty high believe me LOL

The shipping companies in here only work good for companies and even that never work like your systems in there... Sometimes i see free shipping in US stores over the internet, in here the minimum deal that a company can get is around 5€ (for domestic shipments of boxes) and even that they have to have a pretty big shipments volume :(

For singular persons there are no deals in here, even for someone that has an online store... The only way you can get a deal with shipments here is if you open a company and go look for a deal with shipment companies...

You guys have this services pretty low because you have a giant internal market that is runned as global and that creates a lot of volume so the shipments costs could be pretty low... I wish we had those prices around here LOL

Glad you can work around this issue... As soon as i get 5k Burst available i will verify my ID for sure?!

  • @gpedro hey i believe you on the price. Some countries in the EU actually have those prices. I used to live in Denmark a few years back and that's why i related to the price right away. It was that expensive back there as well. So i can confirm, some of our countries have these ridiculous prices.

  • @nameless I don't think a Video call is going to make this any more secure. Yes you have a face but the identity itself can still be Photoshoped.

Hopefully along with normal due diligence the postal hoop will be enough to put of most scammers?

    Rich

  • @RichBC yeah, fair point. Oh well, whatever @haitch thinks is best, i will do

  • OK here's a thought :-) Supposing Haitch sends a small payment to your verified Paypal Account and you then send that payment back along with your address details?

    Rich

  • @haitch I know right? But actually i made a search right now and there is a old company that was buyed by some Chineses guys and that company is making only letter shipments and they have reasonable prices so basically i can send to you by letter with no problem but all the other companies have pretty big costs...

The thing of this company is that they started working in Spain too so they do the external shipments of Portugal and Spain together and i guess that already give them enough volume to make reasonable prices!

So basically you tell how you want things and i will do it, although i agree with @nameless about do both instead of just the letter thing xP

  • why should we trust in who asks us data? this is the right law?

It can be done, provided you have one of those :D
I never used paypal in my life. Welcome to the clusterfuck of the international world and its problems

it's a 2 way streak. you trust him with your ID and he trusts you with his...
and it's not a law. you don't have to do it if you don't want to :)
some of us just feel the need to make new friends i guess

  • @nameless Wow could not survive without Paypal although it would save me a lot of money. :-)

    Rich

  • @RichBC i never used paypal cause i wear a tin foil hat for a hobby. but i get it that it's super useful to some. i never needed to use it really...

i trade stock and forex for a living so it's always been bank transfers, and buying dildos and stuff you can get on ebay i always found local. On the other hand there are business that thrive on paypal, and i think you're one of them. So i get it :)

    Rich

That i don't agree simply because i never used Paypal just because i don't want to send them my info... They are a big company with connections with the Finances, and because i never put my Bank account in the internet... Every buy i make in the internet i use a virtual card different for each buy provided from any ATM around here...

    EDIT: That or BTC hahaha

  • Spam is everywhere, this could have been thinking, I think. setup issue of high fees (100,000 Burst), and there will be many. so far all issuers paid the fee, the right to use the system. someone receives a fee ... which is eroding, it can not fix papers.

  • @RichBC after one incident with paypal i completly removed my cards information. I am not a fan of random chinese transactions in my account when i know my password is safe enough :)

Other than that i am ok to show my face or talk with investors, but not ok to show my ID. In my country (Lithuania) identity is serious stuff and we are advised to not make our ID card public.

  • I think a level system in verification is due

    haitch levels:

level 1 - seen that niggah on skype
level 2 - seen his facebooks and social media and whatnot
level 3 - got a copy of the niggah's ID
    level4 - met in person
level 5 - godfather to my kids or something

Despite the joking matter of the post, i mean it. A levels system might work

  • @nameless I ate all of his salsa that he gave me. I should get level 1 or at least a badge for that. :P

@wishmaster I've been in this community for three years. I run these forums, the block explorer, the Burst-team.us, .biz, .eu, newsense, news asset, miningclub and mobile pools, I host the the English, Brazilian, Chinese, Spanish, Portugese, French, Russian, Italian, Turkish and Norwegian websites for the coin, I run the faucets, the wiki, the Forums, the Dev Teams GitLab. Other known and trusted members of the community know all my real life details - real name, address, phone number, employer. Basically I'm one of the longest existing members of the community, people know who I am, and people trust me. I'm using that trust of me to guarantee you - to say, yes - I've taken steps to know that Wishmaster does seem to be who he says to be. My reputation is used to validate your reputation.

I have no interest in your identity, and no ill intent to misuse it. I have access to the 8 largest pools in Burst - if I wanted to steal from the community there are millions of Burst passing through the pools each month - I could have taken it all.

What I offer is the assurance to people that trust in me to do the right thing, is that I've taken steps to verify who you claim to be. You don't have to avail yourself of the service - but as you'll see in this thread, people here really desire to have some assurance they can trust the people they're dealing with. Identity Verification goes along way to doing that. Anonymity makes criminality too easy.

@LithStud Same here - we guard out identity, our social security number preciously.

But you'll be sharing your identity with me, and only me. Not the community, not my wife, not my employers - just me. And depending on whether we use the mail method or video method - potentially there will never even be an electronic record of it - just a single photocopied page on my filing cabinet.

I take identity seriously, and will not mess with anyones.

@nameless Because that physical address will be linked somehow to you - and a community member standing on that doorstep or lawsuit delivered to that address, I'd expect the real you to be outed pretty damn quickly.

@socalguy I verify SocalGuy is a suicidal maniac, and I know his real name and address .............
