Plotting vs optimizing

Hi I would like to ask if optimizing is less time consuming than plotting?
I mean plotting 1tb with small stagger size it will take n time. Optimizing the generated plot will take n/2 time or something like this or it will take the same n time of plotting or even n*2.

@ccminer optimizing runs in conjunction with your RAM. So, the higher the ram, the shorter time it will take. Also, if you're optimizing to a different HDD, the time it will take to copy the plot from other HDD to another depends on their connection. USB 3.0 is way better than USB 2.0
