Hi
my name is Vusi i was watching Adams video and im interested in mining burst id like to know can i do it in south africa is there a specific hard drive i should buy n how much space do you recommend on the hard drive
-
Hey Vusi, you should be able to do mine in south africa and i would recommend 4 tb hard drives because they seem like the sweet spot in price right now. Do you want an external drive or an internal?
-
im using a laptop so i think its best if i get an external

Seams it depends on model, too.

And seagate's like it cool :-)

EDIT: DO NOT PANIK, i have quite a lot of drives over years, even before burst started, and none of them died! Even 6-7 year old drives mining burst 24/7 for nearly two year still working fine.

sow, external WESTERN disc it´s not good idea?
-
As far as i know HGST is also western digital ... you have to read the sources ... i'm not sure i have some every manufacturer ... most drives have 2-3 years guarantee anyway. Maybe not buy drives 2nd hand or with just one year guarantee.
Btw. failure rate does not always mean, drive can not be used anymore ... it just means it has more read failures, not so important on mining ...

@luxe
ok... i go to western external 5 tb, here in portugal i think its the best i can find, relacion with space X price
-
@burstcoinPT should be ok, keep them cool and dry.
Check this http://geizhals.eu/?cat=hdx&xf=5588_HDD~339_3.5"~840_USB+3.0&sort=r
It's cool cause you can compare via Price per TB
