GPU plotting 10TB ... 3 weeks!? please help

@Jackk78 Ignore the estimate - it's way, way off. In direct mode the plotter builds the entire file, then fills it in. The building process takes quite sometime - 5TB takes about 12 Hours. While it's building the file, the time estimate will just get worse. Once the actual plotting starts, the estimate will decrease, but will always be longer than it's actually going to take. For 10TB you're looking at around 2 Days. The GPU plotter was telling me a 5TB plot was going to take 124 years - it took 24 hours.

@haitch If it will be done in 2 -3 days, it is not a problem. I could not use the gpu plotter, because the speed was very low, at around 1200 nonces/min. Now, I am using the wplotgenerator and it is working with 7258 nonces/min, which is much much better. Not the best, but i think it will do the job. I will wait the 3 days, to see what is happening, and if it will not do it right, than I will start from scratch with smaller size plot files.

@Jackk78 Thats what I was saying though - the stats on the GPU plotter in Direct mode are completely bogus. At the start of my last plot (15TB over three drives) it was showing 1000 Nonces/min, estimated plot time 124 years. It finished in 24 hours with a final plot rate of around 21,000 Nonce/minute. With a reasonable GPU the GPU plotter is much faster than the CPU plotter - just ignore the stats, they're a lie.

@haitch Well, I did not knew this, so I changed the GPU plotter to CPU. Everybody learns from own mistakes :) Now, since I started to plot the drive with the CPU plotter and it is working, I think I will leave it to do its job. If something will go wrong, than i will change back to GPU plotter and smaller sizes.

Can you please explain me something. On my current plot file the stagger is set 15232 and in Task manager the wplotgenerator uses 7 GB of RAM. If 1 GB of RAM is 4096 than the memory usage should be 15232/4096=3.71 GB of RAM and not 7. What is wrong with this formula?

@Jackk78 Overhead. The wplotgenerator generally uses twice the memory you specify in the stagger.

Hello guys. I managed to plot my 10 TB hdd, after 72 hours, but it is done and it is working already :) I had an issue with the miner from inside the wallet, it was not able to see the plot file, but I started it from command line modifying the path for the plot in the jminer, and it seems to be working fine now. For this hdd I am getting around 30 Sec round time, is this ok? I have another 2 TB external HDD which is plotted for a different wallet. How can I run 2 separate mining operations, for two different drives connected to two different wallets on the same computer? Is this possible?

@Jackk78 Yes, you can mine two different accounts on the same PC. If you're using Blago's miner, just have both drives in the plot paths, if you're using jminer you need to setup and run two instances of it.

@Jackk78 Have two jminer directories each with the jminer software and a unique jminer.properties file for each account. Run the miner from each directory.

Plotting when I run through the purse, he invites me to use my 4 processor cores. speed of construction with the 2500-2700 nonces / min I 45TB hard drives. 9x 5TB. it is very, very slow.
