I don't think there's a difference in USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 @gpedro because i have both and they plot at the same speed. :)
-
@jervis Plotting your bottleneck is your CPU, mining, your bottleneck will be the USB 2.0
-
@jervis oh i was thinking in the mining not the ploting... Sorry @weaveR my bad, but looks like @haitch already replyed to you...

I have USB 3 and USB 2 but they all read in mining about 17 seconds to 20 seconds.

@gpedro I don't understand how do I determine what numbers to use for my nounces? Is the plot useless after you mine it? Should I delete the plot and remake it with different nounce numbers each time?
-
@weaveR no... you only have to plot one time. If you had to plot every single time, this would not be a green coin... To determine what nonces to plot you have to use some math (xD), see this example:
1st plot: 123456789123456_0_1000_100
AccountID_starting nonce_nonces to plot_stagger2nd plot: 123456789123456_1000_1000_100
You see? The initial nonces on the second plot have to be over the nonces already plotted with the same Account ID, this means that i could use any number over 1000 for my starting nonce on the second plot... This also means that the starting nonce on my 3rd plot will be any number over the sum of my initial nonce on the second plot and the number of nonces plotted in the second plot. So my 3rd plot would be something like this:
3rd plot: 123456789123456_2000_1000_100

@gpedro Oh ok I wasen't sure how to do 8tb worth from 0 to whatever number so I just copy and pasted the numbers from the cpu plotter that does the nouces for you depending on how big you want to make your plot does this mean that when I do a mine I'm just mining between those certian nouce numbers? Does that mean it's better to mine where other people are not mining?
-
Could I take the plotted drive to a weaker PC since this is a green coin? Does the mining process require lots of power?
-

Yes for the first question and depends for the second... Depends on your plotted space, because if you have a small plot you provably will win more if you join a pool that wins a lot of blocks and where are a lot of miners bigger than you but you have to be able to send a lot of DeadLines too, and in bigger pools the minimum Deadline will be lower (harder to get) so if your plotted space is too small you will provably don't send any Deadline...

Yes for the first question and No for the second... The only process in Burst that require some power is plotting after that you can plug the plotted drive to any pc and mine in it
-
@weaveR Yes, of course, I'm mining 3.5TB no prob with an E2220 with 1GB ram ddr2. The mining process is barely idle...
-
Ok how do I make the plot come up on the found plot list there's no browse option?
-
Worked it out had to make the path E:\Burst\plots

thumbs up! Happy Bursting!
-
I think I mined some burstcoins but they're not being credited to my account? How do I credit them?

There are rules in every pool. Please refer here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KHu9BWwy_QXIYAx2m_Tzs9BqPoTYUDhEDbHihZEXGsE/htmlview?pli=1#
most of them needs 24 hours or 300 burst coin mined to be credited to your account. It's automatic. :)
-
Oh ok whats the best pool to use for 8tb?

It is listed there: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KHu9BWwy_QXIYAx2m_Tzs9BqPoTYUDhEDbHihZEXGsE/htmlview?pli=1#
There's choices for your capacity. :)

I've been using burst.ninja and it's popping up with green text every once and a while does that mean it's finding coins?
Also does the mining process use your internet connection?
-
@weaveR The green text is what you want but it's not guaranteed that you will earn coins from them xD for that you will need that your pool win the block.. If they win you will get coins xP
If you are in burst.ninja pool you should have a big plot size if you don't have a big plotted space you may consider moving to another pool, since ninja is for big miners and their minimum deadline is pretty high...
-
I don't know what pool to use because the pools you provided me with weren't for my plot size should I try one of the 1 TB ones? I'd be guaranteed to get coins then right?
