MAJOR SCAMS ON ASSET EXCHANGE!
-
@RaidBoss There's no way to prevent someone creating an asset - if you've got access to a wallet you can do it. We can control the topics here, but the scammers will still be out there.
-
Buyers Beware.
The first thing you should always consider before buying any asset is Can I trust this person?
Please consider these things before your next asset purchase.
How long has this person been an active forum member
Do they contribute helpful and worthwhile posts
Do they hold any Burstcoin, Assets or Hardware already
Do they have any friends or references within the community
Are they anonymous, have then provided any real life details
Check for this few things before your next purchase to weed out the vast majority of scammers.

I'll compensate the victims for half their loss. I also lost on 2 of the 3 "assets". We all need to do out homework better.
Haitch, true to his word, compensated me by sending 471 780 burstcoins after I contacted him. That tells you two things:
-
- I should never have invested this much into an asset I knew too little about.
-
- The Burst community is so dedicated, supportive, helpful and unique in so many ways, that scammers haven't got the slightest chance to bring it all down. People like haitch are an excellent example of why Burst will keep growing! Thanks, mate.
-
-
Amen to that!
-
And Haitch just compensated me also, man of his words. A lesson learned. Thank you so much, Haitch....that was above and beyond!

Asset Issuers are going to have a Great time now :D
They also might have to show their Birth Certificate to people to convince them that they exist xD
-
Looking things in a positive light, we have such great asset issuer who are not only honest but also work hard behind the scenes to make us more burst, make this community better and stronger.
Cheers to all those guys!

I dislike scammers...I got taken on btclend
-
To whomever got compensated by haitch... let me know and I'll compensate you for the other half, to fully cover your losses.
Please do what I've been saying for a long time now, and BE CAREFUL with which assets you invest in... I've seen multiple scams come in and out while I've had ByteEnt running over 1.5 years without ever missing a payout... These scammers really upset me...
They don't realize that they would make a lot more by just being legitimate...
Anyway, whomever got compensated by haitch for half of their assets, send me a PM and I'll compensate the other half for you.
Take this as something that you'll only get here in the BURST community, but this won't happen every time... so please, DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE PERSON before investing in any assets!
-
If I come up with a scam stop....I would like 100 million paid day!!!!!!
-
For people who didn't invest in scam assets ... Will they get Bravery Reward xD
-
@Castiel lmao

Yeah, that too. :-)

Talk about a community... this i like!
First @haitch offers to buy back at half, then i offer a 300k bounty, and now @crowetic is going for the other half remaining. This is like a russian election for president : 140%
Btw, can either of you 2 fine gentlemen give me a wallet adress where i can send the 300k? I'm positive i won't be having time this weekend to ''redeem/swap'' shares with the victims, and i'd rather have you guys do it properly instead.
-
@haitch @daWallet we should make some rules for asset.....example: all asset need to have a video with the person and a state ID with photo ot passport with photo.....ID's can cross-out all info except name and picture and location....What you guys thinks....this could stop people from making multipe account scams....due to we could have FBI investigate...

I like the video idea but not the showing of the ID thing.
From @dwallet
check list to evaluate an Asset:- Date of registration of the Asset Issuer in the forums. Is he new, is he a known active member of the forums?
- Can the Asset Issuer show some past work he has done?
- Proof of reputation available? Possible e.g. by eBay, Amazon or Social Network Accounts.
- Proof of Hardware available? Pictures? Mining Addresses? - Pictures can be verified by adding a paper note for example.
- Is the Asset overpriced? Crunch the numbers.Does the Asset have a - solid income stream? Is it future proof?
- Is the income stream related to the economy outside of the crypto space? (<- AAA Asset ;) )
Not all points have to be approved, but the more, the better.
-
@bvadams1835 one of the advantages of cryptocurrencies is anonymity, this cannot be done, we can't ask for passport or stuff like that.
-
@Zeus there is actually a semi-anon solution. For example a group of folks in NXT called NXTInspect act as a neutral entity that verify asset issuer's identities if the issuer wants to. They hold my details as well. A copy of my ID and Pass. It it them, and ONLY them that are to know this information and my info is to be revealed only in the case i'm proven to have a scam asset so that people can form an angry mob and hunt me down.
I believe some issuers here in burst as well have revealed their identity to some of the admins.
Anyway, what i'm saying is that it is possible to form such a group of people that hold these details, provided that they are trusted members of the burst community and can respect the anonymity clause until the case to make a scammer's identity public.
So what i'm saying is that as far as the world is concerned, you are anonymous and will forever be that way if you don't screw people over.
-
@nameless That was exactly what i suggested to be created in my other replys on this post...
-
@gpedro apologies. mush have missed it. anyway, glad we see eye-to eye on the matter
Of course, such thing is but a preference. In the end, it's also fun to have full anon issuers and invest at your own risk. It makes you consider an asset twice as an investor. Regardless if the issuer was anon or public, i always went with my gut when investing after doing my homework.
