You should be able to plot the files with any system and copy them wherever, given the fact that you set your plot's parameters to the wallet address (numerical ID) you want to ultimately use for mining. And no, you shouldn't have to do anything special, just keep the format the same when copying. There is only a slight downside to making many smaller plots - it may just take slightly longer to read multiple files over just one single file. But this is not a huge difference.
@terlord To be honest, I'm not sure where the best place is for a small miner right now... @haitch , @Lexicon , or @crowetic should be able to point you in the right direction though. I'm sure there are many others who can too, these are just the first that come to mind right now. Just give them a bit of time to see that they've been tagged here, and I'm sure one of them will be along.
Based on the calc found here you should see an estimated 17 coins per day. Since the difficulty increases per month, this amount will decrease over time. With luck, you should be able to find a block every now and then but it will be very sporadic.
At 855GB your deadline will be long. I recommend getting more TB's if you would like to increase the amount of burst you want to receive per day.
@ryanw Your USB controller of that port can be shared with another port, meaning that when both are being used they share the bandwidth, lowering the max bandwidth per port ;D
For Linux the CreepMiner is the best. Easy to install and easy to use when its stable. Download and install the development branch. There are some bug fixes in this branch. They are very important for stable running. But when you are stable running Version 1.5.2 it's ok to use that version.
I tried Windows mining too but with Linux its easier (for me) and you have more control.
ok back to the base. if I would like to try with another account, so another passphrase. how could I join your pool with the same software that I've download with your link, and I presume, the same miner.conf ?
it will be better if you could answer to this question
not sure. I think I started right away.
You should see under Transactions, if reward assigment worked. (Type = Reward Recipient Assignment)
you need to have at least 1 burst
the responsiveness on the ui had definitely improved from that last update. however theres still a little lag. ill look at why this is soon its probably to due with the amount of users browsing the ui as it has to push data out to those from the pool.
ive got the auto restarter done. ill apply this update next time i get a window to take the pool down for approx 10 seconds
@Sunny , the target DL has units of seconds. If you're pool mining the pool will override the value. Like burst.ninja is 86400 or 24hrs. If you solo mine you want to lower that to about 14400, or 4hrs. There is no need to clog the network with DLs longer than that, but 4 hours will let you see that once in a while your miner is submitting DLs.
