thank you. I'm skimming this thread now to get a idea of what the pool has gone through since open. theres plenty of info on this thread a lot of active ppl that's a great sign :)
Thanks for all that. I, too, always wondered. I've always left about 50 gig free. Wasn't sure if true or just superstition, or bad rumors. I never asked... guess I'll stop wasting drive space from now on.
Thank you all... for asking AND answering. A neglected curiosity solved! Lol
@Evo The SMR's finally finished plotting, and no bad plot errors so far. I've got another 6 * 8TB non-SMR drives on order - I'll plot all of them in way less time than the two SMR drives took.
And no one should ever have my sauces poured in their eyes!!!!
It is also possible to use more than one GPU in the same machine, and they do not have to be crossfired. I can't remember my plot times, but I think I plotted 10x 8TB drives in 2 days or something like that. With many GPUs, your plotting bottleneck will probably become the host controller and bus speed.
Hi all, thanks for the responses i was not aware of these links containing list of pools. i am at the beginning of this and want to try different pools.
@haitch yes it works right now thanks for the quick action.
I forgot to mention something: Consider plotting each batch of 250 TB to a different mining account if you are going to use one rig per batch. I have done this, and that enables you to mine on several pools so that you become more flexible, you take less risk as regards a pool going down, you support decentralization and you can more easily compare pool payouts over time.
