  @Jay-em pretty much any other type of drive will be faster. For SMR drives, it's best to optimize to a "regular" drive, then optimize that to the SMR drive. SMR drives are fine for mining, just painful to plot.

  @Havoc In direct mode it creates the whole file, then starts writing nonces. That first phase can take hours, so it makes it appear that nothing is happening, and gives you extremely low initial plotting rates - obut they increase the whole time of the second phase.

  pool.burstoin.de does the same. We are unique and can find blocks when it is a revolving base target. My pool is down just a couple more days please be patient.

  @Moltoy Nvidia used Cuda driver. My best guess is that its mixing up with the many OpenCl.dll files in the OS.

  ben is correct, ethernet only. so without an ethernet hub (or router) a cross over cable could be used. the laptop would have to run a dhcp server (i think it can be done with windows connection sharing) at least to get access to set a static ip.

  the result would be slower than an external drive, difference of gigabit ethernet vs usb 3 speeds.

  Ccex answered my first ticket. and refunded the coins. However I had to make a ticket for the other two stuck transactions. Can someone that they listen to tell them that maybe they need to fix their wallet?
