RE: PlotsChecker (not for XPlotter!)posted in Plotter
Is it possible to reassign or rename a plot file (change the Account ID only) via File Manager or does that not work - I've attempted it once on a 7tb plot file and seemed to fail, but I'm not convinced that the file was copied successfully so attempting again, but thought I'd inquire as I didn't see this particular inquiry.

RE: Poloniex?! Anyone esle having issue Hitting Poloniex over the Internet?!posted in Off Topic
@socalguy nice - it's pretty sweet to trade stocks with BTC and it's fairly liquid (non of this 'awaiting approval' for withdrawals like at Polo) - one thing I can share is that if you short a stock like AAPL during dividend time - you get dinked for that!

@socalguy in case you haven't used/heard of 1Broker - I can definitely say that it's a solid outfit/reliable. It's a great platform for those of us who want to be able to trade a range of instruments. You can trade BTC against most pairs in Forex, some stocks as well as several commodities. I like it because you can shift in/out of just about anything - as always be sure to gauge the correct leverage used (if any there).

w/o ref: http://www.1broker.comthere is a system setup where you can post your trades publicly and others may 'copy' it also rendering a kickback to the original trader - it's good to see what others are actively trading. Any questions - feel free to inquire.
I signed up in July 16 and have only shared 2 trades, hence I haven't built any sort of following.

RE: Historic asset price quotes/logs?posted in Price & Trading Discussion
@luxe I was referring to the version on BN and the one you linked - I see they are formatted differently, but likely quite similar behind the scenes/concept. No matter there's enough mud flying w/o adding this bit!

@luxe very good to know about this as well... I'd venture a guess that this is the original?

I did come across this resource (across the way) and it is useful:

RE: Haitch's Assets Assetposted in Asset Exchange
You can look anytime to see what's going on in an account or in this case the asset's account:
BURST-5LW6-657H-WXHL-49BCP - you'll find this address at the upper right corner of the AE (Asset Exchange) for the asset you are looking into - keep in mind that not everyone keeps the running balance in these particular accounts. You can plug in the wallet info within your own wallet or local host http://localhost:8125/index.html (try the search box 'Search by ID') or just click on the linked wallet Account address.
Also, if you wanted to see who paid the account what you can drill down and figure who the payment came from or which asset if you really wanted to know.

@spacemoose yes their decision making skills leave a lot to be desired that's for sure - it's as if they are even worse than the scam artists out there... hence the problem of those hooks they put deep into your bank account. Scary stuff.
Glad to hear that @kamxkmax got your $$$ back!

RE: Haitch's Assets Assetposted in Asset Exchange
Besides the fact that this is the best asset, it's also the best way for those (like me) who tend to sell too early. Having no easy way out of this asset will likely result in appreciation even if the value of the asset doesn't increase, the price of Burst quite likely will. Ask yourself how many times you had a coin but sold it only to fund another and then you look back and.... face-palm.
Looks like I unloaded 255 DASH for .44 btc (around $600/1btc). No doubt that I was feeling sly after a mere 12 hour trade booking a small gain. Mt Gox closed on 2/24/2014 - those were the days - everyone got 'goxxed'. Then there was the Bitfinex hack where they extracted around 30% of whatever holdings you had including USD$ to cover the losses. So for those that are 'newer' here - do not leave your coins on an exchange unless you are actively trading them.

Yep, cheap lesson learned - NEVER do any business via paypal involving crypto anything. I bought (3) 1 BTC paper wallets a few years ago and sure enough they came and were empty. Ebay ruled for the shady dude so I keep them as a reminder. The main problem was that I reported fraud before I had even gotten the wallets as others were being scammed at the same time and just before me. Leaving bad reviews for him... researched his name and of course it came up dirty - so since I jumped the gun and made the claim without proof in front of me - I'm the shady one in Ebay/Paypal's eyes - go figure.

RE: Better to mine multiple machines with same wallet or not in same pool or not?posted in Mining & Plotting
@haitch & @ZapbuzZ - much appreciated info - hopefully useful to others down the line! I am waiting on a USB3 hub so for now most are trying to work via USB2.0 - I know that will increase the overall read times as I had been using up all the available USB3 sockets earlier.

RE: Post your plotting speeds here. Plotting hardware comparison.posted in Mining & Plotting
@HiDevin going back to using xplotter - thanks! I guess I thought using wplot gave me more control over the stagger size which it appears xplotter takes care of on it's own. At 11 threads the 3930k is doing just above 15k nonces/min.
-
RE: Post your plotting speeds here. Plotting hardware comparison.posted in Mining & Plotting
i7 3930k using 6 threads - wplotgenerator /async - 10k/nonces per min - minimal system impact
Definitely slower than using gpu's, but doesn't impact usability as I have an old pair of gtx 680s currently which tend to lag.

RE: Better to mine multiple machines with same wallet or not in same pool or not?posted in Mining & Plotting
Also like to inquire if plotting an M2 drive at the end of my plotted drive farm (nonce-wise - let's say I have 35tb plotted for an account and then I'd add this plot sequentially) - would it not be better to have it be at the 0 nonce starting point due to the other drives read times being much slower?
If that isn't clear for some that might be reading this - this might help:
plot order: 8tb / 8tb / 8tb / 8tb / 8tb / M2 drive 1tbwould this sequence yield different results:
plot order: 1tb M2 drive / 8tb / 8tb / 8tb / 8tb / 8tbThe NVMe M2 drive is outstanding and the pci adapter (which I had to use) works just fine - had to add a microsoft patch to get it working on my Win 7 machine. It tops out at 3.2gb/s as it's the 'low' EVO model which seems to be better bang for the buck. Useful for intensive time lapse/video editing. Definitely not a cost effective route for Burst mining unless you happen upon a truckload of them somehow.

RE: WD External HDDposted in System Builds and other hardware stuff.
@rnahlawi yep, the seagates are the 'archive' flavor so I've read. I am running it as RAID 01 which kinda blows capacity-wise... dang red light is on now since I'm above the 'threshold' lol. It's the QNAP TS-851 - did you see the new one they announced the other day? TS-1685... as if I haven't spent enough on drives lately! Got the Samchung EVO 1tb nvme, but no time to install.

RE: WD External HDDposted in System Builds and other hardware stuff.
@rnahlawi indeed, I got 5 of the 8tb Seagate STEL8000100 (might extract them one day to upgrade the 4x6tb WD Reds in my NAS if push comes to shove). Thanks for clarifying the part about being able to re-format those encrypted drives likely useful info for others.

RE: WD External HDDposted in System Builds and other hardware stuff.
@Burstde true - though anyone considering extracting drives from some of these 'Duo' type setups should do a bit of diligence.... I read somewhere that the drives wouldn't work outside of their enclosure as they were bound to it - please forgive the lack of techo jargon or links! (okay - here's one link regarding their encryption: https://community.wd.com/t/drives-not-readable-outside-mybook-duo-enclosure/6646 )
