@iKnow0 At least I know I'm not the only one 'dead in the water'.

I have been able to find a business in advertising that uses burst to pay in fractions of a penny. Are there any busineses that acually use burst?

RE: Real questions, real personposted in General Discussion
Yeah, it's math again... but at least @haitch was kind enough to explain something in a way I can understand. I don't have the ability to provide 100TB, but he is kind enough to give me the math in multiple reference points to see if this is for me.

Real questions, real personposted in General Discussion
the best I can tell, the electrical cost of mining burst, not to mention the wear and tear on drives, is a loosing combination. I hear a lot of what burst can do and what it will be able to do in the future. All 'future' comments may be 30 years and lots of luck away. I am seeking a viable model to mine for a profit making organization that has chosen or will choose in the near future.
I have been following burst and found it more likely to hear 'oops' or 'contest' instead of 'new profit oriented business partner using this service'.
One tenth of one tenth of one penny (or less in the case of burst value) is difficult to justify mining. There is obviously an upbeat mass of people willing to take this loss.
Can anyone say 'this will be a real productive profit making organization' next month, next six months, next year? Please refrain from belligrent comments. I am only asking legitament questions, seeking a reason to participate.

Juice up the minerposted in Help & Support
Trying to tweek settings. I suppose it's good that blogo made the miner to a small bit of mem. But here I am with all this enormous unused memory and a processor that isn't really breathing hard.. Anything I can do? I have mem not using and would be OK if the processor went from walking to jogging.

Kudos for Blagoposted in Comments & Feedback
I joined burst not really understanding what I was getting into. It seems to be a fun project. I stumbled my way into getting things working. When I found the pool I felt was right, I had questions. I posted on the forum. @Blago was the first to respond and took the time to answer my confusion. Buy the way, software he appears to be the creator of, works well with 'other things' I have going on. Sometimes we forget to say THANKS!! Let me do it now...
KUDOS for BLAGO !!! -
RE: Mining from multiple hard drives?posted in Mining & Plotting
@Leece The software is only looking for a drive letter, so it would yes... If you look on youtube with the keywords burst coin, or burstcoin, you will see some miners showing off their rigs. Look at this one and in the lower left corner of the screen you will see his 10 external drives

@LostBoy I agree. If seagate made outstaning drives ' tomorrow ' that were dependable, it would be a couple of years before I would even consider buying from them.

RE: plotting whole day and still 4 percent :(posted in Mining & Plotting
@jervis You have a slightly different setup than me, but @daWallet or one of the other big guns will probably see this post and give better information than I can. At least when you show your hardware, others with the same setup might have answers.

RE: plotting whole day and still 4 percent :(posted in Mining & Plotting
@jervis what operating system, cpu, gpu, how much ram, which program are you using to plot with? What plot size (that strange long number that looks something like "<your account number>_0_11280000_60000"?

That's a good video for a new miner that has never used Polo.

RE: Pool Recommendations.posted in Announcements
@mouse_rr When I switched pools, for a few days, I saw a downturn toward my wallet. Give it a chance to pick back up. Everyone is going to be different, I suppose, but after a little more time, things might get better. It did for me. I know waiting and wondering is frustrating for most miners. At least the smaller plots don't make the electric bill jump, Hang in there!

RE: Pool Recommendations.posted in Announcements
@mouse_rr Just my 2 cents worth, but you didn't mention what pool you were mining on, which one you switched to and how many terrabytes you have plotted.

RE: Pool Recommendations.posted in Announcements
@haitch Is the a way to put some kind of notice or link on the pool pages? My wallet has a link that says messages, but i'm new at this and I've never received one.
-
RE: Pool Recommendations.posted in Announcements
@haitch What percentage of miners come to the forum and read these announcements? I would expect it to be small.

RE: Did I mess up my pool change?posted in Help & Support
@haitch Thanks for the reply. Since I started the message I have received a burst payment, so I know I didn't mess anything up when I made the change. That was my big concern.
Now I can keep reading the posts and understand what and how I am doing. -
RE: Did I mess up my pool change?posted in Help & Support
so if I understand correctly, when the pool finds a block, Something mathmatically figured from historic shares total earned will show up in the wallet?
