Interesting! I'm also located in MN, just a few miles north of St. Paul, so I'll be interested in seeing your progress!

Check out Shift as a coin to invest in. The goal of the project is to decentralize the internet.
https://www.shiftnrg.org/
Huge potential.
And you can check out the Ryver channel (same function as Slack) with any questions.
https://shiftnrg.ryver.com*Full disclosure; I've been invested in Shift for awhile (you can find my delegate/wallet on the delegate monitor), but I truly believe it would be a good investment.
you've moved a long way since pharesim left the project. i've had my eyes on shift for longer than you think, but your coin is not ready. i'll know when the time comes, and when it does, it will be in 402's portfolio
You've been watching it for longer than I have! I'm curious as to when you think it will be ready, but I have a feeling you won't tell your secrets! Once Phantom is (re)released I think the train will leave the station pretty quickly.

I bought 100,000 shares a few days ago, damn I should have waited ^^'
@TimboSlice I didn't know about this Shift coin, but it looks very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Np. I quite enjoy sharing a learning about new projects!

RE: First Annual Node Driveposted in General Discussion
I'll have one running on my mining rig shortly. What kind of system resources are required for a node? I figure if a RPi can run one I can too, even with 4gb of ram and a two core cpu. Is it just mining that would take additional resources vs just providing more peers for the network?

RE: What the actual f*ckposted in Off Topic
Since pretty much everyone is going to college straight out of high school because student loans are so easy to get (that's a whole other topic) and it's just expected that everyone has a degree, I believe there is a huge surplus of labor for "white collar" jobs and companies just hire cheap recent graduates that have a high drive to succeed because they know there's a lot of competition.
Did you get a degree through the army? Or just experience? Unfortunately a lot of companies prefer degrees over experience. Which is bullshit in my opinion, but just kind of how it is.The upside to that is that many trade/"blue collar" jobs are in high demand and pay very well because the kids today don't want to actually put in any real work. I'm not sure if that directly helps you out, but there might be places you can put your skills to work that you haven't considered yet.

I'm a delegate/forger for Shift. The goal of the project is to offer decentralized web hosting. Check it out here; https://www.shiftnrg.org/
I think that decentralized hosting will be the next big thing so I'm involved in Shift and own some Maidsafe as well.I also own some Lisk to vote for pools and essentially gain interest, and own some XMR and ZEC for long term.
I just turned my GPU miner to Expanse since they released the bond system which I find interesting and any way I can create more passive income I'm in for, especially at 12% a year, at least in EXP, who knows what the USD value will be, maybe less maybe more.
And finally I'm mining DGB with a 12gh/s USB ASIC. It makes me next to nothing, but hey why not. The USB miner was my first foray into cryptos so I want to keep it running just for fun.

RE: Other altcoin mining?posted in General Discussion
I think SIA and Storj. It's different "mining" though. In SIA and Storj (and eventually Safecoin) you are being paid for others using your disk space, if your contracts get filled. With Burst you are using your disk space to process transactions and create new blocks. So in Burst your disk space acts as the processing power like with a GPU or ASIC, whereas in the others you're storing information.

RE: Working Script - Freebitco.in auto claimer IMacrosposted in General Discussion
@dagentlemang
Down to 37111 since I'm still messing around with it xD, but over 37k.
Just send the burst to my addy in my sig and then send me your 9kw ID over PM here or Burst message or just post it in the thread and I'll send the points over!@gpedro
It's definitely worth it to buy the points! It's a shame the captchas have been so weird for me, but babysitting gets old fast! -
RE: Working Script - Freebitco.in auto claimer IMacrosposted in General Discussion
Is anyone interested in purchasing points for 9kw? I bought some a bit back but have been having trouble with the script with weird captchas and am just tired of babysitting it. It's an issue with freebitcoin mostly and not the script itself.
I have 37,121 points, so lets just say 37k. I'll sell it for .004 btc or 5.8k burst (preferably burst). If you get the minimum amount, 195 sats at the time of writing this with say 12 points per solve, you can get 3,083 solves or .006 btc, standing to profit .002 btc or 50%, while making the income completely passive.
I know this is just me being lazy, but it was only 5 euro/close enough to $5 and just not worth the time to babysit or mess with the script a bunch. So a pretty inexpensive learning experience to make sure an income source is actually passive for a few weeks before paying money to keep it running after only a few days.
PM me on here if you're interested! You can transfer points on 9kw so I'd just have you send the burst and your 9kw account id via burst message and then transfer the points.@dagentlemang if you don't want this here I can move it to marketplace but I figured it would make the most sense in this thread.

Well done! Those are some nice looking GPUs!

RE: Working Script - Freebitco.in auto claimer IMacrosposted in General Discussion
@dagentlemang yes it's with the solve media option. Refreshing doesn't actually help, seems like when it wants to make me click to reveal the captcha it will only give that option until I click it and then rerun the script.
I'll try messing around with getting a click into the script on the captcha. Just gotta find the position on the screen and see if I'll need to figure out how to get it to scroll down or not. -
RE: Working Script - Freebitco.in auto claimer IMacrosposted in General Discussion
Has anyone else been getting the "please click to reveal security code" captcha that then plays a short video (usually from US Bank for me) and has the code at the bottom after a few seconds? I have all the video plugins turned off and tried installing an adblocker but they still pop up every once in awhile and then the script just cycles through trying to submit "please click to reveal security code" as the captcha to 9kw.
Any ideas?

RE: Working Script - Freebitco.in auto claimer IMacrosposted in General Discussion
I actually ended up just buying points on 9kw. It cuts into profit a good bit, but it's completely worth it to not have to spend any time solving captchas.

RE: Working Script - Freebitco.in auto claimer IMacrosposted in General Discussion
Thanks for putting this out there! Started using it and it seems to be working fine, just need to keep up with the points 9kw!
Is there any way you could update the OP with the updated script? I got it all running with the original script and THEN realized there was an updated version. Was too lazy to update then but will in a day or three. -
RE: [ANN] BurstOcean - Sailing Wealthy! - Multiple Income Streams - BURST Price Boosterposted in Asset Exchange
@chrispop said in [ANN] BurstOcean - Fresh Asset Entering The Market:
@TimboSlice You have a point there Timbo. You said that we could get cheap gpu miners some of the famous POW coins convert to POS,but I disagree. The GPUs are not made especially for mining cryptos, they are mostly for gamers and for those who need hardcore graphics power like in architecture,music,etc... So the GPUs are not likely to drop in price.
Also if all the ETH miners or other cryptos miners will move to ZEC and XMR it is likely that the price of them will increase because as you said most miners mine for a profit so if there is no profit or they end up in minus they will drop out mining.
Anyway as a "life jacket" I can sell the asset gpus and invest in burst miners or something else so there is nothing to worry about. That's true but I think at this point there are so many GPUs dedicated solely to mining that there will be a selloff at some point and the demand for "normal" usages won't be enough. Like how the RX 480 reference cards sold out in like a week even though AMD knew the miners were coming for them and produced a lot of them. Not to mention all the mining motherboards, cheap CPUs and giant PSUs, that could hit the market
So many miners that just sell will put a lot of downward pressure on the price of any coin, even if the rate of emission stays the same no matter how many people are mining it, since there will be more people mining just to sell. And then if they drop out mining, what will they do? Likely try to sell rigs, especially if they haven't hit ROI yet. Hence the cheap hardware theory :)I know it's kind of all gloom and doom, but I'm not trying to FUD or anything, especially on the asset, just like to stay realistic that at some point GPU mining may no longer be feasible. I invested knowing full well what a big part of the revenue stream was at the moment and the current state of GPU mining, and am currently very pleased with the asset performance so far.

@JotaJota said in [ANN] BurstOcean - Fresh Asset Entering The Market:
@chrispop the asset is paying weekly?
Yes, @JotaJota! We are paying weekly, every Monday.
@qibucks I haven't done the calculations yet but around that number I think. However we still have to install the third GPU which will be probably installed tomorrow. Also now are hard times for GPU mining as we need to pay even 75% of the production on electricity fees, but I hope better times will come.
I hate to say it, but I think GPU mining will get even harder soon. Both EXP and ETH are looking to go POS or some variant soon and if either or both of them go, it will put too much pressure on the other POW GPU coins since a lot of miners are just a parasite on coins to make money (myself included) and the profitability will go even lower. The good news is that then cheap hardware will flood the market and it will be easy to build a good rig and just be patient, as POW GPU mining will likely come around again at some point. Just think the Litecoin and ETH ups and downs, the people who held onto their Litecoin rigs instead of panic selling to by ASICs with everyone else made bank with ETH.
Or I could be totally wrong and ZEC and XMR will be large/worth enough to take all the GPU miners from ETH and EXP whenever they go POS. That's half the fun of crypto; the uncertainty.

Definitely an interesting idea and it would be fun to invest crypto into something not even close to crytpo related. I'd buy some.
